Anyone familiar with this? Is this the league that was brought up on here several months ago? Is it legit? Thanks for any info. www.wnvl.com/

Not sure what thread you are referring to, but there is also this: thewnva.com/The two leagues were announced about the same time (over a year ago?). Not much has happened since. Wouldn't hold my breath.

I joined the WNVA Facebook page a while ago. I posted on there sometime last month on there asking about their timeline and I got a nice note from the fellow who is behind all this, I forget the name now but he is one of the producers of American Idol, chiding me about my impatience. I told him it wasn't nice to tease people for so long, he then made some vague comments about how they have a plan but that they won't launch until they feel good and ready. Oh well.

So today they had a posting on Facebook about their "Annual Holiday Party"
Huh? You have no business, yet you have a holiday party?
Then I read the article. "This event is the DeShay’s annual holiday party. The Women’s National Volleyball Association headlined the list of sponsors"
So they guy who "owns" the WNVA has a party where "the worlds of Hollywood and Orange County came together to celebrate the season."
And this non-existent volleyball league is a sponsor of the party?
I think that tells you what you need to know about the future of the league.

It was definitely a mistake to announce and make a big spectacle of yourself a few years back at convention then do nothing for so long. Usually, if you are presenting players, concepts, etc. you are ready to launch the league shortly thereafter. Everyone seemed pretty interested at the time, and he was gaining support. His concept was based on a reality show he was going to create to show tryouts of the teams in the league. This was supposed to kick off interest in the league. My best guess is that show idea got cancelled or put on hold in hollywood and that was the end of that for awhile.

Until teams are formed and matches are played, it's all just vaporware.

I think someone just went out and registered a bunch of domain names, and maybe registered the trademarks, too. Nothing to see ... move along.

I just got an email with an offer for my club to sell t-shirts with the WNVL logo that says, "I dig this game" . I can purchase the shirts for "only" $9.95 plus shipping and handling and sell them at whatever price I want. I wish I knew how to post the picture on here - the shirt is not "cool". I can't imagine anyone under the age of 50 wearing it.
