This is part of the effort by the Volleytalk Selection Committee to pick a field for the Tournament this year. I have been running things poorly and confusing people. At 11:00 AM pacific time I am asking BIK, as somebody who has supported this effort a lot, to run the meeting. My computer does not post Replies on PM or the main thread about half the time, disaster, so I have asked BIK to open a new thread he can modify and control, to whatever extent. PLEASE ATTEMPT TO REFRAIN FROM ENTERING ON THE NEW THREAD IN NOT A MEMBER. Yeah, right, that'll work.
My computer cannot handle mass mailings or long entries, so unless we get another secretary it will have to be handled on thee public board. If you have suggestions, demands, or want to ding a proposed team to make a discussion, please PM me if you want to "protect your identity", to make it easier to back away if no time or don't like proceedings" We will eventually go public with discussions.
PROCEDURES
Following has been proposed. (1) 75% needed to approve team as at large. (2) For Seedings, assign a point amount to each team with 16 pts for proposed #1 (say, Penn State), 15 for proposed #2 (say, Stanford), etc, until proposed #16 gets 1 point. Each Member votes, then add up. This would be very quick, not sure about accuracy. (3) For adjustments, say 4 B1G in one bracket, or for needed fudging for hosts, 60% approval needed. (4) Brackets to be filled in by seeded order
Two additional caveats from me, either of which can be rejected as not options open to the NCAA (please vote on these two AND whether we should precisely follow NCAA rules, or not.) (1) Want to try to see at least 3 from each sub-regional from within distance, and/or (2) Been proposed elsewhere that each subregional have at least one atlarge qualifier added, no 3 AQ in any regional.

I'm against exclusivity. The title "Members Only Write" really got my goat -- which is astonishing given that I don't even have a goat! It's things like this that really divide our nation.
I'm all about inclusivity.

Hey, you creeps off our thread. Members Only!
First all this info comes from the Rich Kern site. Invaluable for volleyball fans; coaches, he even has an RPI Estimator to figure out how a team will help/hinder your RPI. Now comes info as stated used by the interviewed committee member. I did not find the Strength of Schedule indicator until I had finished copying this info down, so I'll put that in the teams for seeding.
These teams are presented in sets of five or so. I took the RPI number and added half the Pablo number to arrive at an order. I will try five and see if my computer will bite, then another five.
FIRST SET OF AT LARGE NUMBERS:

It's getting late and I'm getting frustrated; typing numbers was always a bother for me. So I'm just going to list the teams that appear to be "on the bubble" or ripe for consideration. Playing around in Rich kern can give you all the info like above you need. If you want particulars from a team, indicate so on here or PM me. Note Ohio is back in play after losing in their semis today.
following are listed using the full RPI and 1/2 the Pablo:
LMU Arizona San Diego State Northern iowa Missouri North Carolina St. Auburn Northwestern Georgia Tech University of San Francisco Baylor Long beach State Clemson Idaho St, if they lose tournament Virginia Tech Xavier TCU VCU Ohio (lost tourney) Wichita St. (added)
By this time it is hard to imagine teams getting in tourney,as good wins become hard to find, but let me know if you want a team considered.
