That list is missing the number one prospect. Hawaii's Jonas Umlauft is not eligible for the fab 50.

As the dead horse that has been repeatedly flogged on this message board over the years makes its return, let me once again inject some clarity into the Volleyjoke Magazine Fab 50.
The list is only compiled by the doofus writers of the magazine by calling selected head coaches in the college ranks along with some other various power club coaches, to get everyone's $.02 on who the "best players" are in a given high school graduating class.
This explains why self-promoting programs like LBSU always place 5-6 players on the Fab 50 list, even though maybe only 1 or at the most 2 of them will ever see playing time in their program, while the others (who weren't really that good to begin with) will wither away to the volleyball netherworld never to be heard from again 4 years down the line. The simple fact of the matter is that Knipe will call in to the magazine writers and overhype his recruits to get them on the list.
Conversely, Wilton has never participated with the Volleydoof Magazine writers in colloborating on the Fab 50 list. This explains why year in and year out, Hawaii is underrepresented on the list. If any UH recruits make the list, it's probably because their club coaches forwarded their names to the magazine writers. Also, UH rarely gets impact players from the SoCal talent pool or the Midwest talent pool, which is where the majority of the Fab 50 come from.

That's a huge load of steaming crap. Coaches woo interest and attention for their program and their athletes, just like they lurk here and read posts. Then they go off and act like they don't. Trust me, college volleyball coaches have been playing that "Uh...I don't really follow the internet volleyball scene so I can't really comment on that..." game long before VT came into being. And...coaches being busy? Puh-lease. This is men's collegiate volleyball. Coaches busy. Haha...that's frickin' hilarious. Somebody call Pete Carroll of JoePa and tell them that men's volleyball coaches are busy. LOL. Phark, that is too damn funny. Busy. Haha.
