If it took UF 5 to beat UK, Sunday is gonna be crazy.

UF doesn't win this game if Cusack isn't playing. She helped the passing and came up with some really big digs. Amber had a career match tonight and it's fitting she gets the kill to end it.

I'm very concerned about this team's ability to close games out. They couldn't do it in games 1 and 2 vs. UCLA, they struggled vs. Utah, they blew game 2 vs. South Carolina, they had like 80 match points in game 4 tonight and couldn't do it.
This was a very even match if you look at the stats. 18 blocks each, 91 digs for UF, 89 for UK, 73 kills for UF, 70 vs. UK. UK had 15 more hitting errors. As Mary is pointing out now, you won't get calls on the road and you just have to live with that. Good win, but man, I hate this new and improved SEC. LOL

It's disturbing how much the SEC, and Southeast in general, has caught up with Florida in volleyball. The only thing more disturbing is this team's inability to put games away.

If it took UF 5 to beat UK, Sunday is gonna be crazy. You would think so if we werent 27-26 vs Auburn in game 3 tied at 1-1... Not that sunday wont be crazy anyways... edit: UTK 30-28 in game 3...

Times are changing, people. It's not the same SEC. Every team is good especially on their home court, as we are seeing this year. Rally scoring, more talent spread around, better coaches and more money put into the programs, the SEC is becoming a really strong conference. They are in every other sport, no reason to think they won't be in volleyball either.

Kudos to the UK fans for showing up, 3,150 when they were averaging like 800.

It has to be a cause for concern that Florida struggled so much in their passing game with Cusack playing. Was Hampton off in that regard? She is usually pretty solid. The SEC is clearly improving as a league, but I am not sure how good it will get in an area where spring football is at least the third most important sport, maybe behind basketball. I think the Gators will bring their "A" game against the Lady Vols, who I am assuming they play next, so that should be pretty good.

Well, let's be realistic here. Cusack hasn't seen the court in nearly 3 weeks. After game 1, the passing improved dramatically, though it's hard to say just exactly what was going on, what kind of problems exactly they were having, without seeing it. The fact that it did improve when Cusack came in is calming to the nerves. And it's not like she was in there every rotation. She was the DS for 4 games, before switching to libero in game 5. They definitely don't win this match without Cusack. She's just that stabilizing presence back there and yet another match without a receive error. Everything is just better when she's playing libero. Kisya doesn't have to play back row, Amber doesn't have to play back row, cause Rhian subs in for her. People say it's only 1 person, but it totally changes everything. Now if they can just get Kari and Stef back, full time and producing, so Kisya can move back to the middle, they'll be just fine. I'm not worried at this point, because they are still a work in progress and have yet to play a match with their full lineup. I'd be worried if this was November, but it's not.
