Congrats to Nevada. As for New Mexico State, I don't think this will drop them out of the top-25 as they have beaten top 25 San Diego and a very good Sacramento State team as well.

Well I hope NMS doesn't drop, but I wouldnt be surprised if they did. They havent played any ranked teams ... or even any teams in the 50s range (I believe), so I don't think they had any real merrit being ranked, aside from the fact that they were 15-0 at the time. But after being snubbed last year from the NCAAs, I'm thinking their coach wanted to bring their record as high as possible, with the only losses coming in the WAC.
I do believe they are a great team though, Nevada either caught NMS off guard or Nevada is working the kinks out of their lineup. It's not good for NMS or the WAC for them to lose, but they'll be fine.
The WAC ... Well their's Hawaii. Then New Mexico State, Nevada, and San Jose St.
We shall see what goes down, WAC season is still early.

Congrats to Nevada. As for New Mexico State, I don't think this will drop them out of the top-25 as they have beaten top 25 San Diego and a very good Sacramento State team as well. Unfortunately, unless other teams have gotten upset in the lower Top25, NMSU will drop out of the poll. Nevada is not a team that has really proven to be a Top 25-30 team at least. Also, the undefeated record was the only reason why NMSU was ranked. IMO... USD, Sac.St., are merely 25-30 type teams- which is not enough for NMSU to get that Top25 rank(unless they were still undefeated). Of course as I said, it depends on how some of the other teams in the lower half of the poll faired...

A bit surprised to see NMSU lose to Nevada. But that is something NMSU has to learn. It is very different mentality being the hunted instead of being the hunter. And this really hurts NMSU chances at their goal of winning the WAC. Even if (and its a big if) Hawaii were to split with NMSU with each winning at home, NMUS had to run the table, as Hawaii is likely to run the table against the rest of the WAC.
But for NMSU, this is a good loss. Their goal is to knock off Hawaii. In this case, its better to play a team and find out what was exploited than to see only easy teams and get surprised. Nevada was going to do things to exploit NMSU's weaknesses and its a good lesson for them as they have had an easy preseason schedule.
