I think there were a lot of people out there that thought Richards would be of a Logan Tom quality. Richards is good but just not that good. She hasn't made huge strides in her game. I would much rather see Barboza in Beijing than Richards. But does Hampton really have a shot at the National Team? I haven't seen her play this season, but she never impressed me. I don't see how Hampton could beat out Barboza, Collymore, Houghtelling, or even Richards. Kehoe does seem a bit off her game so far this season. Coming back from a hand injury can't be easy as a setter. Give her time.

Kehoe is making strides each match.
As to Hampton, she is very solid, not flashy, not alot of heat, but solid hitter, blocker and defensive player. But no, I don't think she would beat out Larson, Barboza, Houghtelling or Colleymore.

brybry, from last year's Montreux volley masters, I thought Hampton did pretty well. She was even more consistent than Houghtelling, if I remember correctly. Richards just wasn't impressive. She was inconsistent in the backrow and couldn't put the ball down when she rotated to the front. I remember thinking, this girl is a bit overhyped.

KR could get a nod at libero for the national team -- her defense and passing are superior, put she couldnt hang offensively at that level.

Her defense and passing are not superior - watch a few matches...but that could be because of the setting.

....I don't see how Hampton could beat out Barboza, Collymore, Houghtelling, or even Richards. ....but for some reason I like C Morrison better.

At the Vegas tournament Kristin's senior year, I was sitting in the stands with a friend who had never seen her play. Her team started warming up hitting. All of a sudden your heard this "THUD". My friend said, "What was that?" I told her it was Kristin hitting the ball. On the other court was Janine Sandell. Same sound when she hit the ball. Kristin really shone as a junior player. She was heads above everyone. Has she improved her game since then? Maybe not. Maybe it's for the reasons I stated earlier-she's been playing since she was 8 years old and was in the gym watching from birth.

I believe it is still to early after a few matches to count Richards out. Give her a break she had a few not so great matches!

He was merely stating his observations of Richards. Nowhere in there did he compare her to a Hawaii player or say she was worse than a Hawaii player. For the record your statement is incorrect on a 2nd level as well. I'm sure Kamana'o is being considered by the U.S. National team. No way a 3-time All-American doesn't get considered. As for whether they'll invite her, who knows, but you can bet they're considering Kanoe.

She'll be on the National team in the future, for sure.

Tiruray2004, Kamana'o was in that same Montreux roster with Hampton, Houghtelling, Ah Mow, Scott, Davis, Drury, etc.
