Sanders is playing pretty pathetically. I'm beginning to get very very disgusted with how she manages to hit long or wide all the time. C'mon you're supposed to be all-WAC, and a three year starter.
On the brightside Kaufman is in for Keefe. Hope she can make up for Sanders stinking up the place.

12-10 UH.
WEll you guessed it they just let Nevada back in the game.
By the way the Wahine are playing right now, I absolutely do not like their chances with NMSU. The only chance I like is if Hawaii goes to a game 5, then I think the Wahine have an edge. But anything less..... let's just say it's unpredictable.
Just too many stupid stupid errors. I question their desire to win.

18-18 tied.
Haha, sometimes you just have to lauggh.... I have no idea what is going on right now with the Wahine. I just have no idea, it's just so frustrating to watch!

Okay well Hawaii showed it's mental toughness in the end, with their ability to just make the plays in the end, where Nevada couldn't. However not to take anything away from the wolfpack, they have a good team. This doesn't say too much though because it's not like the Wahine are that good either. I have a gripe with Sanders. She couldn't hit, she couldn't block, shecouldn't bump set the ball at all good. She's lucky Thomas is injured, and Shoji gives a damn about her. Houston at one point was crap in BR. Shoji should have put in Duggins a long time ago, not after five or so straight Nevada points in a row. . I'm not sure why Johnson held back on some her dumps in the end.... those probably would have gone down for kills. I think that's about it. The Wahine should just take it easy for the next three days. Boise and Tech should be easy. NMSU WILL give Hawaii all they can handle. We'll se how the Wahine deal with it. Things obviously couldve been worse, so I shouldn't complain too much.

Some fans are just hard to please.
The Wahine just swept a good Nevada team.
I'm not complaining.

aaronic... when was the last time you had something nice to say about Hawaii?
C'mon... life is too short to be so negative.
I was at the match and thought it was fun. No, neither team was playing championship volleyball... first, it's mid-season. They both know Hawaii will win and there is no need to go all out on this one.
It did show, there were plenty of funky errors throughout the match, but the key thing for Hawaii were that none of them were at critical points, like had been a plague in the past.
Johnson had to hold back on the dumps towards the end because she had blockers up and they were getting dug.
Houston is playing better defense every single game. She had a minor collapse in game 3. Oh well, she'll learn to fight through those.
Sanders isn't playing all-world right now because she doesn't have to. When she's needed, she'll be ready.
All-in-all, I thought it was a pretty-well-rounded performance by the 'bows against a Nevada team that was better than I anticipated, but not quite at the 'able-to-challenge-Hawaii' level.

By the way, Houston is getting better.
18 kills, .417 kill percentage.
She had some nice digs too.
And she's improving on off plays.

... on the bright side the Wahine did play fairly well ... the team continues to gel and become more cohesive and smooth. Passing was decent until game three, where it got pretty damn bad, but has been getting better. I think the Wahine deserved to win Game 3, ya they fell apart, but it took guts to rally like they did. They outscored Nevada ... 10-4 or so. The Wahine got real sloppy in the third game, just too many hitting and passing errors, but a win's a win. Houston has fined tuned her hitting. It just looks very smooth right now ... her approach, jump and hit is all together and we are seeing some very nice kills from her. Not Willoughy-like yet ... but getting there. Gregory also has become a big force in the middle. Someone mentioned earlier in the week about her lack of connection with Kamana'o ... well the past couple of nights have been big improvements. Gregory is hitting hard and with authority. She definitely improved since her freshman year; becoming a complete middle. Hmm ... what else ... I guess that's it. Sanders struggled offensively. I really don't understand why she isn't as dominant as last year. Connection is on and off with Kamana'o, but her swings just don't pack the same punch and consistency as before. Woolford is another player who is lacking consistency. She's the top DS off the bench, but she makes way too many passing errors and can't seem to pick up line shots. She does play good scrambling defensive though, but she still has some kinks to work out. Nevada looks pretty decent actually. They have the personal to be a solid team, but they lack experience. Hawaii picked them apart from the service line. Nevada's passing was horrible at times. But, the future looks good. Nevada playsa bunch of underclassmen... they'll be good in a year or two if they can continue to bring in solid players. Ericson is a gem for Nevada and their freshmen Aune and Stacker look like they have potential to be developed. If anything they bring height ... I think the last player Nevada had over 6'2 was Michelle Moore. I feel bad for players like Sorenson and Adams. They've lost all their games to Hawaii their whole careers. They've come close numerous times, but fall short. They got one more guarenteed shot.

They came back and won, which says a lot. They could have easily folded. Overall I thought they played well tonight.
