What's the deal with all of the 'same' time breakers? You should be able to copy someone else's tiebreaker. The first one posted should be the ONLY one to count.

WOW, Gorfie at 10-3. Rus at 9-4, close.
Ruffie at 7-6 far far far far behind.

What's the deal with all of the 'same' time breakers? You should be able to copy someone else's tiebreaker. The first one posted should be the ONLY one to count. I don't think there has ever been an instance where there was both a tie for the most wins and a tie on the first tiebreaker. I would imagine p-dub or Gorf or someone else has researched and found that a combined point total of 220, or around there, is the both the median and mode and, thus, a decent, rational guess. Similarly, if contestants think the match will go three or five games, there are clustered scores for each. Also, maybe some players are strategizing because they think they have a better chance of getting the second tiebreaker correct. In any case, it does not seem to be a problem. If it were, I would think a good solution would be to let players choose any score they wanted for the first tiebreaker, but have the second tiebreaker go to whomever first filed the closest first tiebreaker score.

I don't recall a week when the 2nd tiebreaker has been necessary for selecting the winner.

Hmmm. There's actually strategy to the tiebreaker? Oops.

Hmmm. There's actually strategy to the tiebreaker? Oops. There was an implication by another poster of impropriety in the selection of tiebreaker scores; I would consider strategy a preferable alternative. ;D Come to think of it, I seem to recall a thread where (R)uffda was mentioned as perhaps not putting as much thought into the tiebreaker as for other choices. That may even have been a time when (R)uffda tied for the lead but lost the tiebreaker. Of course, there is also the possibility that a large number of posters independently and randomly chose the same number.

(R)uffda! ought start focusing more attention on his picks again instead of on the tiebreakers.

In fairness to (R)uffda, he has been focusing a great deal on a most important pick: whether to choose a Norwegian or Swedish au pair for his eight month old, though I understand there is a certain amount of pressure on him from outsiders to "consider" certain 6'8" Estonian and Latvian applicants.

Yikes. I went from 10-3 to 12-8. My teams did not fare so well today. Sigh.
