I honesty thought Penn St. was a bit untouchable in the conference this year, having watched them a few times on TV. I figured they would sweep Wisc., since we handled them pretty easily. I'm sure the easily handled Badgers very much look forward to the Gopher's upcoming visit to Madison..... Maybe you should lay down a challenge to Gorf, say, a "bet".

How did I get involved in this "bet" Bik? (R)uffda! and I are major jinxes for the Gophers when we make the trip to Madison to what the matches between the Badgers and Gophers. The only times in the past decade (or more) that the Gophers have won at Madison are when neither of us makes the trip. We're both considering making the trip this year so the Gophers would yet again have to worry about taking on the Badgers in a packed a loud field house but they'd also have to face "the curse".

I'm guessing that was Phillips, but I don't know for sure.
The Badgers were "easily handled" and their middles were outplayed by the Gopher middles. Not sure why that's such a touchy subject. It was just one match. But any objective viewer would tell you the same.
I will also be the first to admit I don't have a good take on the Badgers. I've seen them 3 times in person this year and they have been AWFUL each time. They are obviously much better than that. You don't sweep PSU, no matter the circumstances, if you don't have a very good team.

Only a little over 3 hours to see who will take the Big Ten conference lead. I am doing my part and bringing 5 people to tonight's game. I hope the place is packed!!!

Ruffda...you saw them play Texas, the Gophers and the last I'm at a loss, but I will tell you those first two I mentioned were easily the worst (with UCSB) they've played this year. If you had seen them last night, sweeping San Diego in San Diego, or annihilating Purdue or Michigan, you might have a better take on them. So I see your confusion. I might think the same of the Gophers if the only games I saw them play were LSU, Texas A&M, or Northwestern. I think the Badgers are right there with the Gophers as far as talent and strength of team...my bet is that when the smoke clears, they'll be ranked very closely.

I predicted to Ruffda a few weeks ago, Minnesota would get the Lions tonight. With PSU banged up, I hope they don't get double dipped this weekend. I'm pretty sure the Gophers weren't thinking about winning the conference around week three. That's why you play. I tried to call the NCAA this morning and tell them I saw a few Gopher players, peppering with professional players, but noboody answered the phone.

Keystone, for someone who doesn't want to cry injury, like you accuse Bik of doing, this is the second time you referred to PSU as banged up today. Stop it already......lots of teams are banged up by this time of year.If PSU's bench is as deep as everyone believes (and they didn't have to go to it once last night by the way), the Lions ought to be able to prevail. If you're really looking for a reason why your Lions lost last night, you need go no further than what Coach Rose said after Friday's game. "We just got our butts kicked....sometimes that happens."
