I believe Livingston was once... I KNOW that Lizzy Fitzgerald got one at the beginning of the 2001 season after the Badgers upset USC in a pre-season tourney.

Do you Wisconsin fans agree with the choice? Or would you have thought another player could have been recognized? Carlini? Reineke? Anyone else? I'm fine with the choice. The pleasant problem is that Carlini or Reineke were also strong candidates for the weekly award. Carlini was an consistant offensive weapon, and seemed to come up with a big kill every time PSU tried to mount a run. And Reineke, both offensively and defensively, was a strong counterpoint to PSU's strong middle play. And OSU simply had no one that could contain her at the net. Simpson ran a beautiful offense. She truly has a great assortment of hitters. If she could get the award every week, the Badgers would be home free.

I think the entire Wisconsin team should get the award. Everyone contributed and played flawlessly as a complete team in their upset of Penn State. Since it can't be given to the entire team, then it being awarded to the setter who ran such a smooth offense is certainly well deserved. However, it wasn't just their offense that ran so smoothly, Wisconsin's complete defense from blocking, to digging, to serve receive also deserves kudos.
