Mich with a little run (helped by a bad Purdue in the net play (not a bad call, just a bad time to hit the net because the ball was not going to be hit))
26 - 23

Bruzdzinski with a kill to win it for Mich 30 - 28
Kind of like game 2 against Ohio St last week, Purdue falls completely apart at the end
Michigan made a nice rotation switch in game 2 getting Bruzdzinski in the front row opposite Williams.
SOS was 10 - 8 that game, with 7 of the Mich points coming with Bruzdzinski in the front row
So check this for game 2: Purdue outhits Michigan .350 to .286, outblocks them 4 - 0 but loses the game

I should mention, this has been the Bruzdzinski and Mader show for the first two games. Katie had 17 kills, hitting over .500, and Mader had 15 kills, hitting over .400

Purdue pulls out to a little lead, but then Michigan comes back with a run.
Check this
With Katie B in the front row, Michigan leads SOS 7 - 0 With Katie in the back, it is 8 - 3 Purdue
However, Purdue is killing themselves, making WAY too many unforced errors with Katie in the front row. Jeez, she is going to hurt you as it is, you can't afford to hit your attacks into the bleachers!
21 - 17

25 - 23 Michigan in game 3
Whereas last game was all side out for the first 2/3, this is a lot of points
SOS is 12 - 10

By my count, Purdue had 6 digs in game 3
Bruzdzinski ends up with 24 kills, Miller with 13 Mader had 18, Lynch and Merlau each with 11
Purdue really missed Jacques tonight. Williams contributed basically nil

Although I hate The Blue, I have to root against Purdue for conference reasons. Jeez, talk about a team that's been hot and cold. Actually, both have, but UM's record shows that more.

I think Michigan is starting to reap the benefits of the lineup change that brought Miller back into the middle, where she clearly impacts. The first half of the season, she was hitting outside, with mixed results & success. While they went 13-0 with her on the outside in non-conference play, Big 10 play is a different story.
They also switched liberos a few weeks back, which also seems to be giving them more consistent serve receive. I like this lineup.

Those stats are eerily reminiscent of last week's vs. the Gophers. They do seem to have made a turnaround.

I think a lot of us missed Michigan's turnaround. They played PSU tough in Happy Valley and then went 5 with OSU. That loss looks better after OSU took down PSU.

When did Purdue switch to a 5-1?
I wish Purdue won tonight so MSU is not going up against some angry Boilermakers tomorrow.

If Lizzy Jacques is out for Purdue, that kills them. She is there most intimidating attacker for Purdue and is a blocking force. She really looked good at Columbus last weekend. Does anyone know how long she will be out. I now think the Bucks have a good chance to catch the Boilers. Without Jacques, it will be a long rest of the year for the Boilers.
