I know it is a different discussion, but do you think Peniata will get an all-American nod this year? I agree she is a lock for conference honors, but I think the Gophers' performance pretty much ensures someone will get national honors, and I think she has been the most impressive Gopher over the course of the season. Nelson's block numbers aren't huge, and Jones and Cumpston had periods of inconsistency. Bowman didn't put up huge offensive numbers.
I think Nelson will also be all conference; I don't know about the others.

I would say that Peniata will probably get Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and at least 3rd team if not 2nd team depending on how they treat liberos. There are alot of great hitters in the country putting up some great numbers so it will be interesting. Who are the other liberos in the country that she would be competing against?

One more thing: 2-4 without Peniata and 21-3 with her....you be the judge!

I think Seilhamer and probably Cusack would be in the running at libero, off the top of my head, but Peniata has had some insane dig numbers in some matches and makes a lot of "wow" plays.
