I don't think the best setter in the Country (Kamana'o) will end her collegiate career with a loss at home. Ah, so then we concur

I take your point about the Nebraska-Minnesota match at the beginning of the season, lilred. It was a long time ago, of course, but I'm sure fans of both teams would be anxious to see what would happen with both teams at full strength (and, incidentally, Minnesota was without its libero AND its second-best passer/back-up setter/opposite, possible the single player on the team who has the biggest impact). I'd love to see a rematch!

Florida: Call me a homer all you want but if the Gators stay healthy they can beat anyone. This team is strong all around and a home court advantage for 4 staright tournament matches gives them even more help.
UCLA: UCLA has already showed they are comfortable with playing in Hawaii this season so Hawaii's home court advantage is likely to be out the window. This part of the bracket has some good teams but all have visible weaknesses with UCLA having the smallest weakness.
Washington: PSU is a good team but we've seen they are not mentally strong, when they get down they can't find the will to win. Washington will take adavantage of that especially since PSU should face them in Washington.
Stanford: Not much to say about this one, Texas is the only other team in this part of the bracket that I think even has a chance but Stanford will easily take care of them.

I find it interesting that no one thinks Washington will have problems playing at Colorado. Nebraska over Minnesota UCLA over USC Texas over Stanford in a 5 game thriller Washington over PSU

I forget what coach said it, but he said that if Hawaii is "in system"--in other words, if its passing is good--it is a formidable team with Kamana'o's ability to set the left, middle, back row, and right with deception. Right now Hawaii is a good blocking team, with Gregory, Sanders, and Kaufmann continuing to improve over the season. If Hawaii passing shows up, it CAN upset USC and UCLA. If Hawaii's passing goes South I wouldn't be surprised to see Hawaii swept easily in three games. I am hopeful that Hawaii IS returning to its tradition of strong defense and ball control. So my prediction:
Nebraska over Florida Hawaii over UCLA (Maybe wishful thinking but please pass, pass pass!) Stanford over Texas Washington over PSU
Texas has been erratic in the backrow and their blocking has been disappointing this year considering the considerable "hype" about their height before the season started. However, Teaxas does have players with a lots of athleticism and potential. That's why I go with Stanford even if I want to say BASTA.

I find it interesting that no one thinks Washington will have problems playing at Colorado. Actually my post included the prediction that Washington will not escape the first three rounds as easily as expected.

I find it interesting that no one thinks Washington will have problems playing at Colorado. Nobody's saying it, but some of us are thinking it. Last year's team made uncharacteristic errors at Fort Collins (with the same two Colorado teams there, I might add). All three teams are teams Washington should be able to beat even if they're not playing their best. Penn State is another matter, but I'm expecting Washington to play their best at home. Nebraska Stanford Washington UCLA

I don't know if Hawaii would have any answer for Nana, but I think they could slow down the rest of the hitters. If their passing was on, they could pull out the win at home. UCLA would have a decided advantage outside of Hawaii, but the match would be at the SSC, and you can never rule out the home team there. You guys got to remember, they have to go through USC first before even considering UCLA. As a matter of fact they got to go through a whole lot of good teams first. One down.

If The Wahine get past Long Beach State tonight, they are my choice to win the Honolulu regional. The Wahine are going to be very hard to beat at home.

I like Hawaii's chances against either the Women of Troy or the Bruins. Hawai'i has had its way with UCLA recently and although they got spanked at home earlier, they still know they can beat the Bruins. I don't think this USC team will beat Hawai'i at the SSC, even with their illegal pro. If Hawai'i makes it back to the SSC, the venue will be packed, and USC gets blinded by the lights above the SSC court. These teams must get there first though. I like that, Illegal pro......................hahaha.........LOL..!
