Anyone know what's going on? The Pyramid looked pretty full at the beginning...

What the heck is up with Pepperdine?? I'm quite shocked right now, the Waves were doing so well prior to the Tourney. Dare I say it but.... could it be? The aura of the Pyramid?

Die LBSU win or lose the first two games?
GameTracker lists them as winning the first two games, the NCAA web site has them losing the first two games.

Were there 2 Crum sisters playing in this match - Chevon and Mariko? Or, was it just a last name coincidence?

Thanks. I saw Chevron (Pepperdine) play in a match in HS. I remembered her because of her unique name.

Yeah there are 3 Crum sisters. Cassidy, Mariko and Chevon (not chevron). All three are good players. You might remember them at Arizona Juniors or Club Red during club ball.

Ah, right, Chevon! Sorry about that.
Don't remember them from jrs. I'm from MN and my daughter's team just happened to be playing Chevon's team when I was visiting.

Is BG crazy or something? Weird quote by him, I don't understand it...
Here are the Post Game Interviews/quotes:
PEPPERDINE QUOTES
Head Coach Nina Matthies “I thought we had a great year. We have a young team and have played tough competition all year. Tonight we just played frantic, which sometimes happens when you want things too much, but Long Beach played really well tonight and it’s a tough loss.”
On comeback: “When you’re down 0-2 you’re always looking to change the momentum. We had some opportunities and didn’t execute when those opportunities arose.”
Outside Hitter Julie Rubenstein: On team: “We will definitely miss the seniors next year, but we have so many girls that will be returning and we’ll be looking to improve. I’m excited for next year.”
Middle Blocker Sophia Milo: On UH/LB matchup: “They are both great teams and it could be a great battle.”
LONG BEACH STATE
Head Coach Brian Gimmillaro “I thought our team played pretty well most of the time tonight. We had a mental lapse at the end of the third game and Pepperdine started to relax and play a little better as well. But we did things when we needed to do them and I am really proud of how they played and the attitude that they played with.”
On Quincy: “Quincy is a great competitor and an excellent athlete. We’ve been working hard at getting her healthy for the playoffs. I didn’t play her in our last three matches, but it was a game time decision to start her tonight and she played really well.”
On UH: “Hawai’i looked pretty darn good tonight. If they block like they did tonight I don’t know if we have a chance.”
All-American Alexis Crimes On 4th Game: “In the third game we lost our focus at the end, but came back in the fourth game with no outside influences and played within ourselves.”
Outside Hitter Quincy Verdin On injury: “My leg felt great tonight. The adrenaline and support from my teammates definitely helped.”

Typical coach comment. Play up the competition so that you look like the underdog going in.
Different than Siena's coach when he said they would beat MN if his team played Siena volleyball.
Sorry for putting the MN reference in this post!
