or you can say Dunning has trained others to play ahead, namely Waller at right and Girard as a second middle. Okagbaa's problem this year was the stress fracture that kept her out of practice and playing the beginning of the year and others were ahead. What I have said elsewhere is I guess Dunning will tell her to train as a utility player, ready to step in at any of the front row positions. She shows flashes of real ability, but obviously will need playing time and confidence. And the staff didn't have time during the season to train just her, as would be the case at any good program. I'm sure Nebraska has similar cases. Would be surprised if she transfers; came to Stanford for the schooling as well as volleyball.

I'm trying to recall of ANY transfers out of Stanford and can't think of even one athlete that transferred. I don't think it will change anytime soon.

Well the few times I saw Okagbaa hit on the outside for Stanford this year, she was amazing.... when she got a good set she pounded the ball much harder than Barboza and Richards, but she lacked in her defense and seemed to not do well in out of system plays.

ty, I really don't think she hits that hard. She does hit from a higher contact point , so usually she is over the block, but not real hard.

Against Oregon or Oregon State, she came in for Barboza in the front row: she hit the ball hard and straight down around the 10-feet line. The crowd gasped at her hits. Now that she is healthy, she can train full time again and we hope to see her playing next year.

Her arm swing is very odd looking, but It works for her, I hope she really gets into that line up. Waller has been doing great things on the right as we know so it will be tough. Okagbaa has also trained as a middle too, right? Any possibility that she might see time their over Girard?

I really don't think she will play middle. I think alot of that has to do with her armswing. She has that windmill/round house swing, which I'm just not sure would work as a middle.

Speaking of transfers, what happened to Hornbeck (sp?) who was on the team in 2005? Did she just stop playing? Saw her hitin the 2005 scrimmage and she put awway everything against the first team.
