I truly respect you guys...you are the engine that makes women's volleyball run. Your (collective) passion is something that should NEVER go unappreciated by those whose lives and welfare are impacted by your opinions. At least YOU ALL CARE. Please keep it up.

These are just a bunch of men and women who just like talking about volleyball. There are certainly people like Rich Kern, John Tawa, and Pablo who do work that really does have an influence. Really - I'd think women's VB would just do fine without VolleyTalk, although it does make it interesting. I've had enough discussions to know that many coaches who might be reading this get a good chuckle out of some of the stuff that's written here.

Tacking? I merely pointed out that those not receiving points in the initial poll is an inherent flaw in this paradigm. I prefer to characterise my perspective as fiddling about (like wicked Uncle Ernie) as opposed to "wiggling". Isn't suipport that rice wine that takes the edge off of wasabi? OK, reasonable points. How would you improve this to take into account those points? How would you measure improvement quantitatively?

You are underestimating the influence volleytalk has on volleyball as a whole. There are some brilliant volleyball minds that post on a regular basis on this venue. The few that I know personally are all individuals that are making a big difference in the volleyball community everyday. Some coaches may chuckle but many most likely have their pencils out taking notes. I have been around volleyball my entire life. I can honestly tell you that I have adopted alot of new ideas since reading volleytalk. The gossip , controversy, and speculation are just added interest.

I always thought of this as more or less water-cooler talk. Occasionally something enlightening shows up......
