By all counts leaving Faucette off the list is odd...#2 player ranked by Prep VB. I guess she has a bigger Club impact than in HS?
Well, I notice that Jen Doris who was #3 is not on there either...probably #'s 4,5,&6 are missing as well. These lists are all subjective. I remember being surprised when Tawa left Klineman off his Academic All-Americans last month. She fit all of his criteria to make the list, but he probably just chose to recognize other players.

It would be interesting if anyone has the time to start adding the College behind their names that these players have committed to or if any are still uncommitted. I saw your request this evening SaltNPepper and had a little time, so here you go:2006-07 AVCA HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR ALL-AMERICA TEAMGabrielle Ailes - StanfordMary Catherine Aune - AlabamaLauren Bledsoe - FloridaBritney Brown - NortheasternBrittany Bullard - OklahomaEmily Burke - PittsburghChristie Carpenter - BYUJessica Clemens - PortlandCole Dawley - College of CharlestonLaura DeBruler - IllinoisBrooke Delano - NebraskaAlyssa D'Errico - Penn StateBrook Dieter - MinnesotaKatie Dull - Ohio StatePaige Erickson - DelawareErin Fleming - FloridaKatie Gallagher - MiamiBrittney Grove - MarylandJenna Hagglund - WashingtonAimee Huffman - IowaMichelle Jantsch - OhioCourtney Johnston - North CarolinaLauren Jones - Kent StateAlexandria Klineman - StanfordKim Kuzma - WisconsinWhitney Leonard - LMUJordan McCullers - Georgia TechTehya Mockapetris - UndecidedCrystin Rodrick - Colorado StateMary Ashley Tippins - Georgia TechKatie Tribley - IdahoCaitlyn Vann - MissouriKathryn Wilkerson - SMUCatie Wilson - MissouriMegan York - St. Mary's

I notice a lot of names that are not on the list. It goes to show the amount of talent from around the country. I remember 15-20 years ago, there were a few highly regarded players out of high school each year, that the coaches go out of their way to recruit, and it's mostly out of the west coast, that's not so tue anymore. The kids are bigger and more athletic, and just the sport in general is very physical now.

Had a long talk last week with someone on the national committee of the AVCA.
Coaches had to nominate players and those coaches had to be members of the AVCA.
As a result, many who would have been on the list were not. As for Faucette, she was San Diego-area POY, so she had a massive impact on her area her senior year.
