It's possible, I just don't think all the reasons have been said. People are assuming and getting information from all these different places and sounds that some is made up. I'm sure people would look into it more. There would have to be a reason for her leaving and the coach not signing the release that's pretty sketchy to me.

I think everyone is getting too hyped up about this. If these girls are transferring, let them. If it was any of you out there, you'd all be in the same boat with the way they are probably feeling. I bet you all there's more to them leaving than just the conference and all that talk about the us stuff. Maybe people should wonder why Beth isn't giving them the release to play, in most cases that I've ever heard of coaches usually end up giving them the release to play, maybe that is showing something about Beth. ahh....perhaps you are right and this is the payback for the free trip to Europe! or better yet maybe she is thinking they might come back?

Here's what I think... all the coaches involved should get online and tell us the truth!
Bawahahahaha!
But, I bet they are lurking out there!

I think that would be a good Idea, let the coaches tell us. But then let the girls tell us also. I would like to hear both sides. It seems to me they would be totally different.

Whose mom, sister, etc. are you?? What a load of crap - shows what kind of person Beth is? The type that has completely built a program into a contender only to have the carpet pulled out from under her just as she was about to reap the benefits of a lot of hard work.

Built a great program, how many girls quit last year? What about the setter that was setter of the MW? Where did they go? Why did they leave? Nobody questions that.

I don't know of many coaches that would give a release if put in this same situation. They will be able to play.....when they pay the price for screwing their teammates.

Mamba,
You keep insinuating that "the coaches" have done something wrong--that they "should be looked at." The fact that Beth will not release them, almost guaranteeing a hearing before a committee made-up entirely of non-athletic personnel (except for a student-athlete rep), says that "the coaches" have nothing to hide.
How hard do you think Beth has worked to raise the level of Utah Volleyball to their present state (and it's a pretty high level)? How hard do you think "the coaches" worked to recruit these players? Excluding the athletic scholarship, how much money do you think has been spent on these players (apparel, equipment, food, hotels, transportation)? How much time/energy/effort has been invested into these players in an attempt to develop their skills, manage their time, stay on track academically, and adapt to college socially? It would be pretty tough to take, in April no less, to learn that two players have conspired together to make all that investment meaningless. Intolerable if that conspiracy (between Anderson and Salvo) was initiated by USA Volleyball and/or someone operating under their auspices.
But, on the other hand, like you said, "they don't seem like people who would do that for just the reasons said in the paper."
Your innuendo and supposition are making you look foolish. So either bring something of substance to the thread or get off "the coaches."

I just absolutely hate this kind of attitude. This do what is good for you and forget any sense of loyalty or your teammates just stinks. Unfortunately it has became a permanent kind of mentality in beach volleyball, NBA basketball, etc. Me, Me, Me !!!! I feel sorry for coaches these days and isn't it sad that they cannot expect any kind of loyalty from their players anymore. In order to justify this lack of loyalty however we can always try to cast an unfavorable light on the coach. GEES !!!!

I am high school volleyball coach in the midwest. I have, however, visited the state of Utah. I was ten when we stopped to see the Great Salt Lake on our way back from Cali. Family vacations, you know.
So Mamba, anything cogent to add or are you just here to make accusations?

What's the difference it they are of if they're not?
