ASU's Marina Mercer. She kinda looks like Sharpay on HSM. Yes, good observation.

Pac 10 team likely to upset Stanford? Washington in Washington; don't remember last time Stanford won there; got beat soundly last year. That was a very different Stanford team. It was the first conference match, they were recovering from injuries, Dunning hadn't even asked them to do two-a-days that year, and they were talking about doing their fine tuning during conference play instead of before. This year Dunning's talking about doing the fine tuning now, because everyone's playing at a high level already. I won't disagree with you about Washington's chances; they've got a pretty good "not in our house" thing going. The match will be on a Thursday, which will keep the crowd down, but it will be one of the last home matches to get really excited about. If the Huskies are fired up and Stanford is cruising at that point we could have our upset.

The Thursday option can be good for student crowds, esp if Thursday tends to start the weekend on campus. CU played at CSU on Thursday and the attendance was reported at over 3,000. There are video highlights from the match on the CSU page (go to volleyball, then select the video option in the right navigation area) that show a good student crowd (of course it was a rivalry match). _____ OK, that was lazy, here's the actual link ramhighlights.colostate.edu/index.asp?url=volleyball_highlights

To lure paying customers into Maples on a school night, Stanford must be playing a team enough locals are interested in seeing. This season, USC is it... their other Thursday opponents are Washington State and Oregon.
