I am glad that the Buckeyes were able to get the sweep and dominate in the third game. As a Bradley fan, I am all for ISU losing, badly if possible. Anyway, it looks like the Buckeyes have now gone to a better lineup. Stevens obviously had a good night hitting in her first match back in the front row. Did the Buckeyes have a libero in this one? Calhoun only playing for Dozier, perhaps? I know it is important to have good ball control, which hasn't always been the case for the Buckeyes, but I wondered why Stevens wasn't playing front row at times the last two years. I always thought she was pretty good as a hitter. With Szerszen not playing, I think it makes sense for her to be there. It is impressive that Meyer led them in digs tonight; you don't see that too much. The numbers indicated that the Buckeyes had a pretty balanced offense, which is a good sign. I think they have some firepower; it is just a question of them being able to stop teams. All in all, I think this match was a step forward for the Buckeyes. We will see how they fare this weekend.

They have some hosses up front, so for the love of Petey, they need to get a better block! Calhoun was listed as Libero on GT; my guess is she dressed it. She's a very good athlete-- not a great jumper to be an OH for her 5-ft something size...and absolutely no aim. She hunts down that ball, though. Like Sting on the Simpsons, she's a good digger. This could really work for OSU. Remember last year? After the Wisc/Minn death trip, Ami moved to RS, and they won something like 8 straight, including the Nits. She's just been the serve-to player since her first match in 2004, so I guess I understand why she was originally L.
