TAMU might be wishing they'd scheduled a little tougher to prepare for the Big 11:
Pablo, Team, Scores
187 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 30-18, 30-11, 30-27 246 Prairie View A&M 30-13, 30-22, 30-19 304 Centenary 30-15, 30-18, 30-8 178 Utah State 30-17, 30-23, 30-23 22 Washington State 30-28, 30-18, 30-20 244 Montana State 30-19, 30-18, 30-25 183 Texas State 30-22, 27-30, 30-24, 30-14 210 Louisiana Tech 30-24, 30-16, 30-18 128 Auburn 30-17, 30-22, 30-15 251 Texas-San Antonio 30-18, 30-24, 30-23 34 *Oklahoma 30-26, 30-26, 27-30, 24-30, 13-15
On the other hand, I suppose they didn't know they'd get the transfers when the schedule was made.
How did the new setter look?

I know its early, but this could be a big one for OU. They lost big leads in the first two games, signs of youth choking on the big game. But coming back to win three straight, no matter how good or bad TAMU turns out to be, is huge for the OU team. The outsides are keeping them in it offensively while Blum, Barnes and Sharp are getting it done defensively. If the middles get better quick and Weiland starts to get more swings, OU will end up much better than the ninth predicted in conference, especially since the standings are in upheaval with Baylor and Colorado losing to people they are not supposed to be losing to.

The match was in college station.
It was a great match to watch. OU and A&M had some long rallys that just kept going.
I was not sure how A&M would block against OU's fast offense, but they were blocking pretty well. A&M's downfall was their ball control. They could not pass in games 4 or 5 and had to throw every ball to the outside. In 5 games A&M's liebro only came up with 10 digs, which did not help the cause.
By the time A&M got to the 4th and 5th game their outsides were out of gas. I wish when they were down in games 3 and 4, they would have gotten a quick breather.
I like Schevikhoven setting, but she needs to learn how to watch her blockers. You could tell she could not read where OU's blockers were going in transition.
Overall, it was a great match to watch, and very exciting.

“I saw us get frustrated and I noticed just a sense of a little bit of doubt that I hadn’t seen with this group,” Corbelli said. “We kind of lost some our spunk with our approaches to attack. We started to get a little shaken in our serve receive.”
THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T PLAY ANYONE WHO IS GOOD IN YOUR PRE-SEASON. WHEN YOU GET PUSHED, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO RESPOND. BIG 12 PLAY IS A TERRIBLE PLACE TO START DOUBTING YOURSELF!!!
