Ohio is up against a wall in game 4.
Down 22-15, this one might be over.

Another miracle comeback in Game 4. After being down 29-22 (and losing 2 games to 1), Ohio ties the match at 2 apiece (Game 4 score 31-29).

Ohio knocks off Denver 3-2 (30-27, 30-32, 28-30, 31-29, 15-10) in a slugfest. Here's hoping Ohio has something left for Washington State tonight. Fourteen (of 16) players saw action for Ohio. Melissa Griffin led all hitters with 23 kills. Blackburn and Herman had 11 and 20 kills, respectively. Benson and Muller led Denver with 21 and 15, respectively.

Interesting come back by Ohio, especially game 4. Wichita State swept Denver (in Denver) on September 1 (30-25, 30-23 and 30-24); I wonder if the CSTV/AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll voters compare scores before voting?

Ohio and Washington State are dead even in Pablo. This might be the difference.

Ohio just needed an altitude adjustment.
29-22 and lose 29-31. That's gotta sting.

Yeah, and Ohio scored 24 of the last 34 points. Gritty comeback!

Played with Gibbemeyer, Cowles, Dieter, Johnson, Oelke, Halvorson, etc. I that some sort of fancy law firm?

Another miracle comeback in Game 4. After being down 29-22 (and losing 2 games to 1), Ohio ties the match at 2 apiece (Game 4 score 31-29). I was one of the few souls at the match and I just wanted to correct something. It was actually 28-23 and not 29-22 for the 4th game comeback/choke (depending on your perspective). Denver did have 2 match points at 29-27 when Herman finally served long, regardless, Denver could not pass her jump serve at the end. All the sets went outside and the block was camped out and had a field day. You could just see Ohio gaining in confidence as they crept closer and closer, with Denver wilting with each point. 5th game was tied at 7 then the block came alive and that was all she wrote.

It was actually 28-23 and not 29-22 for the 4th game comeback/choke (depending on your perspective). Thanks for the correction. Like GT, Live Stats had a few problems during the match. It did show 29-22, but it also had the final score at something like 32-28.

You could just see Ohio gaining in confidence as they crept closer and closer, with Denver wilting with each point. This is one characteristic of Geoff Carlston teams at OU -- they never seem to think it is over. I remember the first two MAC Tournaments under Carlston. In 2004, they were down 2-0 to Western Michigan in the quarterfinals and won the match. Twice this year we've been down by six or more points with the opponent going for match point and pulled it out. It may not be pretty, but, as I said in an earlier post, it sure is gritty.

I definitely got that feeling watching the match. It looked very very bad for Ohio but they never acted as if they were about to get upset. Their serve receive was less than stellar for most of the match but when they did pass well, DU could not shut down the quick attacks for Ohio.
