A little early for this post....I think this has the potential of being a really good match. I really havent looked much at Kansas St., but Ive heard there middles are really good and have put up some really good numbers. For anyone that watched them while in Hawaii, how did they look?
Couple of things for my sooners. This should be interesting. The last match against Kansas I thought at times they looked a little flat, so they will really need to be ready to play especially in Manhattan. I think blocking for them will be key. Our blocking has somewhat gotten better then it was the beginning of the season but it has a ways to go. Glad to see this will be on tv. Fox Midwest and also Fox Southwest (in the okc area only)

(snip) Glad to see this will be on tv. Fox Midwest and also Fox Southwest (in the okc area only) Fox Midwest is on DirecTV Channel 647, but there is nothing in the menu schedule about it. Maybe this is a late change? Or maybe both FSMW and FSSW are local area only? I hope it's on because I'd like to see both teams live. In any case, it should be an interesting match.

I didn't watch them in Hawaii, but rather I saw them play in the spring at the NCAA Great Lakes Invitational in Aurora, Ill. I was there watching Dayton and they played each other in after the round robin portion of the tournament in the gold bracket. I don't think they were ranked last year and I had no idea how they would be at all, and they completely blew me away.
It was a while ago and I didn't have a roster or know their team, but their middles were good. Blocking was strong, the hitting was strong, and they dug everything. They clearly stood out at the invitational to me and after seeing them I am not at all surprised they are ranked since they were extremely good, and they didn't hold back when they had a lead either. Dayton was a little shaky giving some playing time to a couple player who hadn't seen any until then, but I don't want to take anything away from K-State, they play volleyball well.

K-State in 3. They are clearly in the top 3 of the Big 12 and will push Texas.

This match will be live on DirecTV 648 FSMW-alt, Dish 449 and local cable at 7pm CDT today. It'll be interesting to see KSU's Nataly Korobkova and Megan Farr on the big screen.

I think Fox College Sports Central is also picking this one up live. At least, at last check they were. FCs scheduling is schizo.

Match tied 2 - 2
G1 - Kansas St 30-16 G2 - Oklahoma 30-28 G3 - Oklahoma 30-26 G4 - Kansas St 30-16
It's been a big momentum shifting match. In Game 1 and most of Game 2, Kansas State was demolishing Oklahoma. After the first two games, KState was hitting .292 and Oklahoma was hitting .098. A SLEW of errors at the end of Game 2 cost KState the game.
Oklahoma took KState's errors at the end of Game 2 and ran with the momentum through Game 3. KState looked horrible in Game 3 unable to pass, set, serve, or put the ball in play.
Kansas State got back to Game 1 form in Game 4 and threw the gauntlet down.
Game 5 starting now .... Oklahoma's coach sure is demonstrative. He is right on the side line of the court (almost on the court) throughout the match. It reminds me a lot of the Gimmillaro antics of old.

I guess this shows that it is all about winning the right points. The Sooners got whupped in the two games they lost but took the match. I am a bit surprised that Oklahoma has remained this strong after losing so much from last year. I guess this shows they are here to stay.

Oklahoma loses in every single statistical category but service errors, and goes home with the "W". Unbelievable.
