Went to the match, I love watching Hana Cutura hit, I don't know her stats but she had to have lead the team in kills. Cal should've closed out game 4, so inconsistent at times. We should not be 10-4, 0-3 in the Pac-10
Tarah Murrey spotting at the match. So hey Tarah... come be a part of trasnforming this top 10-15 team into a national powerhouse. Besides... who would want to ever leave Berkeley? :]
Oh & did I spot BC at the match? I saw someone taking pictures with a big yellow backpack, I felt like saying something but I didn't want to embarass myself in case I was wrong.
GO BEARS!

Looking at the stats, Roleder came back from a poor showing against Stanford to great hitting performance with 18 kills and 0.316%.
MB2 position is still a hitting liability, and Johansen hit .000% on kill, 1 error off 8 swings. USC couldn't be more effective when its MB2 is having problem opening the net. Garrett did well before 3 errors (during Cal's scoring run) in game 3 pulled down her hitting %. I like her physical plays at the net.
Also Carico is getting more offensive as well. Early this season, there had been far and few second ball kills (not just dumps, since she swings at the balls), and she needs to hit the 310 more often, though at appropriate moments, to keep the blockers honest and help to open the net for the other 2 frontrow hitters.

It probably was him - not too many people can take good pictures with a small camera, let alone a big yellow backpack...

Cal is at Oregon next, then after playing at Oregon State, hosts Washington. Could get ugly fast.

I believe I called Stanford 2-0, UCLA and USC 1-1 and Cal donutted. Yah, yah, Pablo and AVCA, you and I, and about every objective fan also called it. But are you ready to call Stanford with 34 wins and Nebraska with 33 wins?

Gotta go with Publius here. This has been puzzling me since I saw this last night. In what way is this a surprise or anything? MixBreed above says, "Wow, good win for USC." I don't deny that it is a good win for USC, but "WOW"? Are there people (outside of Cal fans) who expected Cal to win this match? Sure Cal had a good match Friday, but they also shown weakness that the other teams have exhibited.
Then there was the comment that "I guess Cal's just not at the level of the big 4." Has that ever been a realistic thought? Shoot, from the people I've talked to about the Pac Ten (including folks from inside the Pac Ten), the real question is whether Cal is in the top _5_! We will find out much more about that next week when they play Oregon.
This thread has me completely baffled.

Nebraska vs Stanford is a coin flip. It will come down to performances. Stanford was just aobut as good as Nebraska last year but Stalls outplayed Foluke even though Foluke is better, and Larson outplayed Barboza though Barboza is better. Nebraska also got a big time performance from Pavan. Who will be that player this year? Who will win the individual battles? I don't know, but I look fwd to it. Providing they do play ( I think you will see a Stanford/PSU semi) it could be the best played final in NCAA history. Stanford is very good and it will take a team with great talent, playing its best to beat them..

Watching Nebraska and Stanford gives me the shivers, unlike any other teams, and although anything can happen on any given night, I do look forward to their match-up. In addition to Keystone's observations, last year's match between the two of them was, of course, held on a Nebraska home court. This year, while the forum is in California, the Huskers will undoubtedly still command a plurality, if not an outright majority, of fans in attendance.
