Is Gray playing? I thought Hart was running a 5-1? Gray got back into action last week against Michigan. It's not really a 6-2 they are running, it is more a 5-1 with subbing setters. Gray plays back row, Hart playing front row. As BU notes, one thing this does is gets Gray's serve into the match. She probably has the best serve on the team, and it always helps to have tough serving.

I think MSU will be mad they lost Wednesday, and beat Michigan, Saturday. If being mad is your criteria for winning, then the folks in Bloomington and West Lafayette better watch out this weekend. After being jobbed at home on match point against PSU, the badgers may leave some scorch marks on the court on Friday and Saturday - especially a senior-laden team that knows it can't lose another match before the rematch in happy valley and still have a chance at the title.

It's great to see Gray back on the court for the Boilermakers. I think she adds a lot when she's out there.

I have a hard time believing Wisconsin won't sweep this week. Then again, I made that comment last week about Minnesota.. that panned out. They will be two tough matches for Wisky, yes, but I don't see Purdue or IU being able to pull an upset off this weekend. Maybe if Purdue played them first they could do it, but after a match with Illinois, I don't see it happening.

I agree with CollegeBoy, I think that Wisconsin will leave the state of Indiana on Saturday night 2-0, not that it will be a breezy 2-0, but it will be.
Illinois is a really good team, they have just had some misfortune. Every team in the conference looks at a win agains the Illini as a great win. I think they will get IU in Bloomington this weekend after a rough loss to Purdue.
Watch out PSU, the Gophers are bound to turn around, and the way this season's been going, Friday night just might be the night.
Iowa loses 2, OSU goes 1-1.
After beating Northwestern on Friday, I think Michigan will fall to the Spartans in four. I don't think the Spartans will go away just yet.

I think the Boilermakers are getting more steam...so to speak...but the Badgers are just too solid of a team to give them a home victory. Is Purdue set in a line up now? It looked like a good one against Michigan. Is Wisconsin set in theirs? They seem to still be pruning the branches, which is good. The Illini are always very good. They just need to make the step to great in order to break into the top. DeBruler unfortunately may begin to tire towards the end of the season as many freshman do. next year could be their best year. Michigan is still up and down. Not sure why, but think they need to just stay focused all the way through their matches and stop worrying about the mistakes. Just play. Penn State is still the most fun to watch. But, nobody is perfect, and they could be taken by an aggressive team that catches them off guard. Few still could do it, but definitely Wisconsin could and maybe even...well... ....I guess that's it for now.

I agree, Purdue is finally looking like we thought they would at the beginning of the season. However, Wisconsin is still better. I'm with Keystone, and wouldn't mind making a wager with the drifter.

Okay, I'm confused - seems the general consensus is that IU's not that good, and Purdue is "finally" getting to where they "should" be, and is gaining steam.
It's been a grand total of 8 days since IU contained Purdue in 4 - afterwards, granted, IU lost in 4 @ UM, while Purdue did a great job there - so what is it?
I don't think Dunbar is satisfied with the first half of the Big 10 for IU, yes, did _anyone_ think they would be in a tie for 4th at the half? NO WAY. Kudos to the team and coaching staff. I would hope IU can take care of UI, and this time in Bloomington. As for Wisconsin, I doubt it, but hey. IU's last win against UW was in 2002, when they won in Bloomington 15-11 in the 5th. So. All's I'm saying here is that some credit needs to go out to those Hoosiers, and that the 5-5 start isn't just luck.
Go Hoosiers!

Just my thoughts, but I believe Indiana has surprised a few folks this season. This Indiana team is better than what the Hoosiers have put on the floor in the past few years - primarily because there was a change in attitude. Give the new coach credit, but that is why they made the change. Indiana needed a change - several years ago. Anyway, I don't look for Indiana to win more than three matches in the second half. That is still a 7-13 mark - which is pretty good with the strength of the league. And yes, IU is tied for 4th, but they are also 2 games away from a tie for 9th.

True, but yet, they're not 9th. Came back from 0-2 AT Iowa, and fought off two match points AT Illinois to win 16-14.
But anyway, _two_ wins is more than most people were expecting. Must say that Dunbar is very impressive. Hope she sticks around.

I think Cathy George did some good things in her first year, too.

They have had an extremely unexpected season to date. An amazing feat, thus far. The obvious fact is that Purdue is a better team than IU, that should surprise nobody. I don't doubt that IU can beat Wisconsin, it just isn't very likely. The Michigan match was a good indication of how good Indiana really was. A four game loss to a team that good is impressive. I'll up OV's prediction to a very above-expectations 8-12.

I think IU is *so* much better this year, than last year. People were not ready to believe IU could win, so you surprised some teams. They will prepare more for IU the 2nd time around, so it won't be as easy to win. Which should help Purdue. (yea!) Having a strong travel partner helps so much.
As far as the PU-IU game, it doesn't matter when Purdue plays IU, it doesn't matter what sport, it doesn't matter if either team is ranked, you just don't know the outcome. It is a rivalry thing.
I'm more worried about the PU-IL game tonight, than the PU-WI game. I don't want them to be looking ahead to Wisconsin and forget Illinois.

IU has gotten a much needed infusion of energy and enthusiasm with Dunbar. Time will tell if the program keeps moving, but they've had a great year so far.
