The bell curve (or normal distribution). 16% of the population will probably answer "YES," 16% will probably answer "NO," and 68% will answer that it stayed the "SAME." Usually, people's lives don't change that much over 4 years.
When I used to live in New York, a friend of mine used to say, every year, "Next year, I will be a new me and improve my social life with more friends." Sounds great in the abstract, but his life remained the same year after year. No new social circles, no new friends, the same boring humperdinck life. Until something traumatic happens to you to jolt you to your senses, things just don't change.

If you're going to be so paralyzed because someone ELSE did not define a term for you, then you should squirrel yourself in a cave and become a hermit. Geez! How do you get things done? Just define the stupid term yourself and fly with it! Dang... Hell, why stop with "better" ? Why not have him define "you," "now," and "four"? |

So you actually consider yourself to be better off if the country is headed in the wrong direction? Other than getting married (and things related to that) I can't think of anything in particular that I would consider in my life that is better now than it was before GWB was elected in 2000. I won't give GWB any credit for my marriage, and I won't give him total credit / blame for the other things. |
