How much time have you spent slicing your own bread?
My father inlaw told me a story from when he was young about his family getting / buying sliced bread for the first time and being very excited about it.
I guess if you've been using something all of your life you don't appreciate the impact it had on society.
I remember before calculators became a dime a dozen (so to speak) I had to use a crayon to write on (R)uffda!'s forehead to solve match problems.
Now that calculators are small, cheap, readily available, and easy to use (R)uffda! appreciates not having to use fine grit sand paper on his forehead all the time erasing my math problems.

90. Advancements in dentistry. They keep promising less pain, and I suppose they've managed to keep that promise, technically. But the fact is, it still hurts. It hurts like hell. Those bastards.

You must have the wrong dentist.

I'm a little disappointed that Gorf keeps interrupting me. But that's not Top 100.

Are the recent 3 Star Wars films going to be in your list? Because I'll tell you, I was disappointed-verging-on-pissed-off with those.
And then there's the cancellation of "Sports Night". Don't even get me started.
Oops. Sorry. Interrupted you. Carry on.

They ewre as good or better than the original 3 Star Wars movies.
None were "great" movies, none were exceptionally well written, much of the dialogue in all 6 was pretty dumb.
The first one was simply new for its era in terms of special effecs.

I was disappointed in Bambi vs. Godzilla, however, I liked The Son of Bambi meets Godzilla.

Maybe its the fact that I don't use sliced bread that much that makes me think it's overhyped.

So you're an anti-sliced bread activist? You hater!

C-Opus: excellent choices! Yes, they must be on the list, but much higher than the 80s.
Speaking of the 80s...

#89 is the Minnesota Vikings for repeated disappointments over the last 5 decades. Good news? They've disappointed me so often that they no longer rate high on this list. And, given more disappointments in my life are sure to come -- God willing -- they will fall completely off the list in a few years time.

#88 is the Kindness of Strangers. I spent a lot of my life depending on that. HA!

#87 -- The thimble. Oh, sure, it MIGHT protect you from the occasional errant needle to the thumb (or other digit). But what about a guy from Bemidji with knitting needles? Useless! And that's all I'm saying on that topic.

Isn't the thimble a Monopoly game piece? Like, whose bright idea was that?
