The Year of the Flood (by Margaret Atwood)
Done!
Pretty good read. After reading this second book in the trilogy, I have a desire to go back and reread the first book, Oryx and Crake. I had given that first book a lukewarm review but after the perspective given it by The Year of the Flood, I don't think I was totally fair. (I really don't think one should read a Post-Apocalypse/dystopia novel while playing the video game Horizon Zero Dawn).
Now, on to the third (and final) book in the trilogy -- MaddAddam.

next i'll start the church of the pilgrim fathers, edited by george n. marshall.
still need to read the forger but i'll get to that.
finished "the church of the pilgrim fathers" yesterday. it's 9 essays written about the church by members of said church. they heap praises upon the church and i found value in the historical aspect of the essays.
meow i've got 12 days to read the forger before the book club meets up.

MaddAddam (by Margaret Atwood)
Third book in the trilogy. It continues exactly where the second book, The Year of the Flood, left off and accordingly, it reads like a continuation of The Year of the Flood, as if that book didn't end. I'm on p. 31.

I used to belong to an online book club. Got more reading done while I was a member than at any other time. LOL! And we would also have to read books I would normally not choose on my own.

Is this an actual in-person face-to-face book club? it's arranged through the blanton museum. we'll spend about an hour discussing forgeries and then about an hour discussing the book. it's available for members only...so i'm kinda a big deal
many leather bound books that smell of rich mahogany

$100,000 — or I tell the Blanton museum that you play violent video games.

read around 20 pages this morning on the bus. i'm concerned that the main character is about to have a super bad time. have 78 pages to go.
the main character is beset on all sides. i'm nervous. i'm not sure the character will be able to pull it off.
need to let it sit for a bit.
i do know that i'll probably start two(!) books after i finish 'the art forger'.
then............i'm not sure what i'll read as in...read read. i have myriad options. since the art forger is fiction, i'm in line to read non-fiction.

MaddAddam
I don’t know why there’s so much attention paid to Zeb and Toby. It just seems like we’re not moving forward, just some backstory about killing a bear in the mountain after a thopter crash. I guess we’ll see...

It isn’t “literature” but I like the Bosch series. Awaiting the next book. Also awaiting a new Kathy Reich’s book (not one of the YA ones).
