I DVR'd this match and just finished watching it. Yay!!!!!!! I hold my breath every time Kim Glass goes back to serve. How many errors does she have??????? I don't like Logan Tom's attitude at times, but she was great in this match. And Berg, give her the game ball, and the starting nod against Cuba. Seems to me they(almost all of Team USA) has been doing serving errors since their first match and it hasn't let up. Do they like to give free points to their opponents. I'm sure USA Volleyball has the statistics on this match and previous matches in their press release or just go to nbcolympics.com Now here is something that never ever goes away - MS. TOM'S attitude. Did I miss a meeting? I must have. There is hundreds of threads about her stinking attitude. What is it about her that irritates the ***t of about a thousand members in this site? Is it because she scowls and she doesn't give air kisses to her fellow teammates that she is giving or has a bad attitude? Oh I forgot...to anyone who knows KIM W - tell her she played awesome and she(and the rest of the team) that she better play that way against Cuba.

Every time you say "unathletic setters" you just negate anything else you might have to say.

I just saw the DVR of the entire match. Sunderland brought up the point of Tayyiba's health. Apparently she had a procedure done earlier this summer, she has a rapid heartbeat and there are times when "the world slows down" around her and they have to sub her out. She is also been an insomniac the last week because of her heart medicine. I don't know about you all, but I immediately thought of Flo. I wonder if they'd check to see if she has Marfan's?

I set my DVD to record for 2 hours, even though the telecast was only supposed to be for 1.5 hrs. Of course, I missed the last 5 minutes of the final match. So as I'm getting over the agony of this, can someone tell me what happened at the end, if NBC showed much of the post match celebration and if Lang Ping actually jumped up and down or anything in joy?

JLP was the most animated that I had seen in the tournament. The players were actually in pretty good control. They jumped up and down and hugged but not like they just won the gold medal. JLP shook hands with the Italian coach, I think they knew each other pretty well from the pro leagues there. She huged Woodstra first and then the rest of the staff. She did have a big old smile on her face.

Um, think Piccinci needs someone to come over and comfort her? Just asking. Got the call last night around 2 am. Just tying up some loose ends here before I fly up to Beijing to share a Peking Duck with her. Odd request, but its whatever she wants right now. Go USA! ;D

I'm impressed with how this team has progressed as the tourney has gone on. These people, who couldn't pass a few days ago, beat a wildly athletic Italian team. Very impressive.

One more thing. Robyn lead by example. Even though she sat out part of the fourth and the fifth, she was leading the team to shake hands after the match, and then stood at the sideline to hug and congratulate every single one of her team mates.
I guess there is no heavy drama this year. Sykora, Joines, and Oganna all looked genuinely happy to support the team. Gotta love a team.

Why isn't Kim Willoughby starting?
And yes, Piccinini is gorgeous.

Kim Willoughby can be described by a victim of just how good she is playing coming off the bench. The team is winning, albeit not in a particularly dominant manner, and Kim provides a huge offensive and backrow defensive spark for the team. Kim Glass is still shanking some balls every now and then and makes hitting errors, but once again the team is winning and she has been passing pretty decently. Kim Glass also seems to be the better high ball hitter of the two, and since the passing has been shaky there are a lot of high balls going to the outside. Willoughby has been amazing when they run a quicker set to either pin and she can use her quickness and arm swing to compensate for her height. While I am probably one of Willoughby's biggest fans, I stay stick with Glass for now and if she falters then stick Willoughby in. However, Kim Willoughby be had 9 points as a sub with limited action in just 4 games where as Glass had 8 pts starting all five.

And yes, Piccinini is gorgeous. Have you seen the video of her, uhhhh, photo sessions? A volleyball statistics sheet isn't the only place where she looks good.
