Great win for USA. It is hard to believe Serbia finished 4th in their pool. They are a tremendous team that plays amazing defense. This USA team plays with a lot of heart. Congrats to the boys in the red, white and blue!!!

Well going into the match Serbia was definitely a known commodity in the men's international game. As the commentators mentioned Miljkovic is indeed one of the premier attackers in the world and Grbic is an amazing setter and tonight really ran an amazing defense. The US also faced Serbia in the finals of the recent World League Championship that they just won. Tough match, great play by both teams.

If you are not familiar with Men's international volleyball and you saw that Serbia was the fourth seed in the other pool you might think that USA wasn't very good. But you have to Realize that Serbia has to be one of the top teams in the world. They are tremendously talented. Definitely not comparable to China from the US's pool. The US definitely got the toughest of the 1v4 draws.

It just goes to show you just how stacked Brazil's pool was (I don't remember the letter assignment). They loaded Brazil, Russia, Serbia, Poland, and Germany into one pool! If Serbia goes in as a 4 seed you can tell just how stacked it is. Great win by the USA! I hope I get to see the match somehow to see Riley be amazing. GO USA! Beat Russia!

Wow! Glad to see the men advanced. Didn't find the match on tv here...they kept replaying the Chinese men team getting pounded by Brazil in the other quarterfinal matchup.

Reid Priddy is going to need to turn it on for the USA to win against Russia. Up to this point the US middles had been extremely effective which was taking a lot of pressure of the outsides and Clay Stanley. However, this match against Serbia Millar really struggled offensively which put a lot more pressure on Stanley who had more errors. I really admire just how much composure this team demonstrates on the court. There were moments where I was practically climbing up the walls in my house because of the tight pressure situations and to see this group of experienced guys stay calm and maintain their system to pull out the win against a very talented team was impressive. Priddy, Ball and Stanley play professionally in Russia and I'm sure they are very familiar with the opposing team. Hopefully they can pull out another win.
