My dad and I came home from attending the Mariners game (another loss). I stayed at his house and watched the last set on CBC. Way to go, Team USA.

Are any of the guys in tears? More the Brazilians, but Millar was teary eyed. Apparently Hugh McCutcheon had to leave the bench after the win as he was overcome with emotion but he was back for the medal ceremony. Bittersweet win.

I don't know about you guys, but my 12 years of doubting Ball are over. The guy is a legitimate top, top world-class setter.
And what kind of charmed life does Rooney continue to live? 1st trip and he has a Gold medal?!
So...can Hansen hold off Winder and the young guys for 2012? Millar could conceivably come back, but there seems to be some decent MB prospects in the pipeline (Hein, Smith, Holt, etc).

He has reached shibumi. Scott Touzinskiy is also a newbie. One Olympic appearance, one gold. Nice. And they can all go to Disneyland as soon as they get off the plane.

I'm glad they all did great.
Now can we stop the nonsense about how the US can't compete because the NCAA plays by different rules from the FIVB?
