Just an ugly game. USA fouling right and left. Officials can't decide how they want to call the game. USA could be in trouble, just not looking good. Very poor D by Team USA.

3rd quarter ends, USA up by 9. I can't believe how many times the Spanish have driven right around a USA player to a layup.

91-89 USA All the USA is doing is missing 3's and we can't stop Spain at the other end.

Ha! The refs finally had enough of the Spanish bitching. Unsportsmanlike foul called followed by a T. Four throws and the ball. That should close the door. Whew...
Congrats to Spain on a great game. USA with the gold.

This is actually live on the West Coast, and I don't think any coverage before this was as such. And just today I got a housewarming present of a new 42" 720p high-def plasma screen.

I'm just watching the replay of the medal ceremony.
Did anyone notice that this was the only team medal ceremony where the individual players were announced for the (U.S.) gold medal winning team?
They never did this with any other sport.

They never did this with any other sport. I think the NBA players have more name recognition in China as a whole than in any other team sport in these Olympics. Could have been a decision of FIBA. Seriously - I've heard that for NBA replica jersey sales in China, Yao Ming is 6th behind Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James. www.nba.com/news/chinajerseys.html

Spain played without its second best player and starting PG. If Calderon could have played, who knows?
