What is it and when is it? And will this medal haul by the volleyball teams spark an interest in the sport that leads to even more exposure?
I saw where NBC has bought the rights for the 2009 Swimming World Championships and the 2009-2011 US National Championships, no doubt a direct result of Phelps and the success of the US swim team at these games.
Will a similar thing be done for volleyball? I know the World Grand Prix was shown on Universal HD, but on a serious delay(a few weeks I believe).
It would be great if the US got serious about televising more indoor volleyball at the international level outside of the Olympics. We get beach volleyball, but very rarely do we see international level indoor volleyball. The time is now, volleyball has never been more high profile in the US than it is right now. Someone needs to step up and make a commitment to show this sport as often as possible.

Continental championships in 2009 qualify 4 teams to Grand Champion's Cup (all except the African champion) plus Japan as host and a wild card team.
GCC is a silly tournament that exists only to fill space in the post Olympic year. There will be a World League and a Grand Prix as well as the previously mentioned World Championship Qualification rounds.
