www.volleyball.it/leggi.cfm?art=38685in italian, and requires free registration Volleyball.it mentions the leader of the USA gold medalists as a possible replacement for outgoing Poland NT coach Raul Lozano. It is just a quick mention in an article that is more about Italian Fefe DeGiorgi's consideration for the same job, and does not say how far along negotiations may or may not be. It would be an interesting move for him. Poland has a stable of excellent young players, and the Polish federation could almost certainly pay him more that the USAV.

That would be interesting. I am not sure how the Poles would take to the statistically based system that he has employed with the USA team. There is also the question of translating the software over.

There is also the question of translating the software over. No problem there. Datavolley was in Polish (roughly) ten years ago. Datavolley/Datavideo was used by 22 of the 24 teams in Beijing - including Poland. USAV has been using high level statistics and video analysis for several years, but there was a parallel development in Europe (and probably Asia?). Datavolley is developed in Italy and for ten years or more has been used in nearly every competitive club in Europe.

I wasn't thinking in term sof Datavolley per se. McGown and his bunch of mad scientists have been experimenting with all kinds of statistics and applying them situationally.
I remember McCutcheon talking about that in one of his AVCA sessions. I don't know if the Europeans are as statistic obsessed as the USA men's team seem to be.
