I'm Jewish so I don't really celebrate the religious part of Christmas. However, my family and I participate in the commercial part of Christmas, with its gift exchanges and Santa Claus and holiday songs and parties galore. So, what did you get for Christmas?
I got:
three sweaters two pairs of thermal underwear, i.e., "longjohns" three boxes of candies, cookies, and chocolates a Harry & David gift basket a DTV $40 coupon from the government an electronic tire gauge (you can never have enough of those) "The Godfather Trilogy" DVD collection a gift card to Borders Books and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff from office workers

I got to watch my dad play Portal. It was the most entertaining $10 I've spent in a long time. Even more entertaining than when I play the game myself.

My two favorite gifts. A DVD Live Concert called "Home" by Collective Soul and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. Two concerts filmed in Atlanta I believe in 2005 contains 20 of Collective Souls best. The kids in the ASYO are awesome.Viewing on the big screen with the home theater surround sound is like being there.
My second fav is my remote control helicopter. This is one the wife already regrets buying, buzzing her while she's chill'n by the pool isn't going over really big so I'm expecting that it will accidentally be stepped on soon.

Why do you need flannel lined jeans? You live in Georgia, remember?

I got that DVD, and it is fantastic. I've watched it a ton of times. Even stripped out the audio, so i could listen to it on CD. Get the same thing from the in-laws that i get every year - a sweatshirt. A while back for 3 straight years I got the same thing from my wife's grandmother. A grey Nike sweatshirt with a swoosh on the chest. Despite the fact that I get some kind of sweatshirt every year from my wife's family, I really don't wear them.

If you keep getting the same kind of gifts every year by the same set of people, chances are they don't really know you (or care to know you).

Given that they are my in-laws, I'm ok with that....

Got a trip to New York City. What a great place to be at Christmas. Saw 4 Broadway shows, carriage ride through Central Park, ice skating at Rockefeller Center (well, creeped along the wall), Macys and Saks windows (and wow-was Macy's having some sales), FAO Schwartz, etc, etc. Oh, also went to a 5 story Nike store, and the biggest Apple store ever. Oh yeah, went to "Regis and Kelly", also. It was our first "empty nest" Christmas, so we got out of town. Way fun. The trip we thought was too expensive back in September kept getting cheaper every week. The hotel that was over $400 a night in September we got for $169, in Times Square, no less.

I went to Kohl's to return a gift and get store credit. I took one of my daughters with me. She tried on some sweaters and blouses and I swear, monkeys and chimpanzees must be Kohl's target customers because all the sleeves were waaaay too long. Truly amazing.

I guess they must be targeting young volleyball players.... I can never find sleeves long enough!! (Not that I'm young or anything..)

My older daughter gave us Guitar Hero - Aerosmith Edition. I'm sad to say that I'm completely addicted.
