Plus they are being cynically manipulated and used by the Karl Roves of the world. He doesn't believe in any of their crap. He just knows they can help get his candidates elected.
Now it's backfiring. What now? Hmmm. Mudslinging at unprecedented levels, that's what.

Congrats to the State of Minnesota, you have one-upped us Kalifornians again. You little SOBs first set the trend by electing Jesse Ventura as your governor. But we were so embarrassed that we fought back by removing our "dull" governor, Gray Davis, and electing our own celebrity governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I guess in effect, we were saying, "Ha, ha, top that." Well, I admit, you did. You brought in a comedian who was a former cast member of Saturday Night Live. Now, we are left holding the bag. Look at our senators -- Feinstein and CarpetBoxer. Neither one of them can crack a joke like Franken. This is a full scale call to arms. The 2010 senate race looms large for us here. We need to answer back BIG-time. In Kalifornia we are supposed to set the trends and not let a little whimpy state, like Minnehaha, steal our thunder. We will respond.

I think you should nominate Gary Coleman. A lot of people would vote for him. Heck, as long as we're thinking about future elections, the presidential steering committee should put him on the 2012 short list.

Nice try, but we need a superstar. Preferably one who is a comedian. Maybe Jim Carrey:

Again, you folks are seriously underestimating Al Franken as a senator. This guy is no Jesse Ventura, who 1) was only in it for himself and 2) is a moron.

R has been smokin salvia again..
Hammer dude has got it NAILED.
We ..in the loosest terms keep electing people that are successful in one completely unrelated to public service area to represent us.
We elect actors,basket ball players,comedians...
at least Jesse had a progressive History in public involvement..all the Governator did was marry a DEMOCRAT.
Where was his political history for us to judge..? Just as OBAMA had NONE..
and NONE is not good.

Look at the state of this State. Yes, Kalifornia. Here are our leading pols:
Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Arnold, Gavin Newsom, Ron Dellums, Antonio Villaraigosa, Maxine Waters.
What a "great" lineup -- just sends chills down your spine.
We're proud to have the highest tax rate in the nation -- even with Prop 13, and the worst public schools. Please send your donations to the following address:
Bill Lockyer State Treasurer's Office 915 Capitol Mall, Suite 110 Sacramento, CA 95814
Thank you for your support!

Those other people are mostly leaders of the Federal power establishment or local municipalities, not the state.

We are on a first name basis. Sometimes we use other names for him, but let's keep this discussion "family friendly."

Arnold himself isn't family friendly, because he supports letting the gays have families too, which has been clinically proven to make real, straight marriages dissolve through a process that I have identified by combing through old pre-Political Correctness documentary footage: Notice the tell-tale pink tint of the frosssting.

Although our next governor here in Kalifornia is not an actor or comedian, he sure has been controversial.
And that's why he'll be our next "Family Friendly" Governor.
