The thing that's mind-blowing about it is he's also huge in the 80's, and even as a 90's child Michael Jackson was legendary to me... It was eerie turning to all my presets on the way home and hearing nothing but his music...
Cnn and Yahoo just say he's hospitalized, but credible sources like TMZ (sarcasm) confirm it.
R.I.P King of Pop...

I think it's completely reprehensible how the news sources are all trying to outdo each other and be the first to report MJ's death, and prior to official confirmation from the hospital. The hospital cannot release any information until they comply with the federal HIPAA Act.

So bizarre. I was hoping he would make a comeback. Fame is not good for young kids that are forced to grow up in the spot light.

My favorite MJ song, from my favorite album. Before the hype of Thriller and Bad, and way before the weirdness started:
A once in a generation voice - he had perfect pitch as a kid and it carried even into his adult career.

The sad thing about his early demise is that it will make his children very very rich and he will now be a legend of epic proportions.

The sad thing about his early demise is that it will make his children very very rich and he will now be a legend of epic proportions. It depends on if the rumors were true or not if Michael Jackson was broke and owed a lot of people money. If he did, those bills will go to the children who are considered next of kin. I hope the children don't suffer due to a possible costudy battle. And will Blanket's mother now be exposed because of the possible costudy battle. His death may turn ugly because of what he left behind.

Funny how you all judge people.
A Republican governors body of work is NOTHING after he has an affair..even if it is consensual and with another legal aged woman..
A Democratic President can use his position of power to influence much younger women into having sex with him..his body of work supersedes that evil.
A pop star can change his appearance ..live a LIFE NONE OF YOU CAN DREAM OF...be accused of molesting children..and yet you put him on a pedestal. IF HE MOLESTED 1 CHILD ..and it was shown he did..he is NOTHING.
MANNY IS NOTHING. KOBE THE SAME. about 2/3rds of ALL politicians..
Say he was a great dancer, made some good music ..but then went to the DARK SIDE..
only troubling thing is...
Those who worshiped him...created a MONSTER...
without realizing it.
Brilliance often is a companion of tragic events.

First Farrah, then Michael.
The trifecta is in play.

What an enormous waste of talent. Do I admire her? NO. Do I appreciate her talent. Yes. I don't always appreciate Sean Penn's political views but he is a damn good actor. You are right about one thing however. Our admiration was part of Michael Jacksons downward spiral much like Elvis. Every star should sorround themselves with honest, tough people who will keep them grounded.

Ty Cobb was a terrible person, but an incredible baseball player, and nobody could deny either of those facts.
I think the same will be true here. If you want to separate some of the accusations of his personal life, you can, but he was phenomenally talented and had a tremendous impact on our culture for more than 40 years. He's had measurable impacts on every aspect of American Culture. He was a one man economic force both for the profit of corporations and for the charity of tens of millions around the world.
Few people have ever impacted the planet like he has.
