You can visit the "Political Ramblings" board if you wish to discuss politics, political figures, political news, or political events.
Failure to keep on political discussion out of the threads will result in account or IP bans.
Moderation is going to be increased during this transition for all topics, so let's keep it clean, please.

Good decision. As you pointed out on the Political Ramblings board, there can still be further modifications when the dust settles. I'm looking forward to see if the usage on the Off the Net board picks-up. I didn't see this anouncement on the Womens Board (haven't checked the Mens Board) to let people know thar it's safe to come back here.

I say go for it. It would be interesting to see if B and S would transfer their "style" to religion in place of politics.

thanks for the unilateral decision...
Notice the baiting the other side has presented already?
Religion? No chance..
But I'll be watching when he doest ban movie reviews critical of conservatives or about global warming... Or someone post a funny picture of any Republican or Conservative figure.
Or some one rants about how GOOD this president is and how great it is that we don't have freedom of debate here any longer.

Religion is not politics. But like anything else, it can be part of a political discussion. If anyone rants about how good or bad any politician is, that's obviously politics. Reviews of a movie or a book with a political aspect to it -- well, that's potentially borderline. Let's say a Fidel Castro biopic was released. I would guess one could discuss the movie without it being "politics". But it also could easily spawn a political discussion too. Climate change is NOT politics. The response to climate change often is politics. There is a distinction here between arguing about science and arguing about the political decision of whether to do anything about it.

However, I don’t see that you have any reason to complain here. You have a board for your political views. Use this board for any non-political contributions you might have for volleytalk posters. Wait to see if anyone tries to abuse the rules and how they are penalized. Unless I am missing something, you have no right to be complaining at this point.

No, no, no. Separation of church and state and all that. BTW - anyone ever visited Washington DC and noticed how many times the word "God" is inscribed on the buildings our forefathers built? Surprised all references to God haven't been sand blasted from those structures. Feel free to move this to the POLITICS thread if someone wants to.

Sure, but what did they mean by "God"?

Sure, but what did they mean by "God"? Well, I wasn't there, but I think they meant a supreme, eternal, loving being.

So, you don't know for sure they weren't talking about Pete "God" Dinkelman, the butcher?

So, you don't know for sure they weren't talking about Pete "God" Dinkelman, the butcher? Well, common sense tells me Pete Dinkelman the butcher might have been mentioned in a history book or two if they were chiseling his name into buildings. Here's what I believe: (cue "God Bless America" music") Our forefathers were divinely guided. This country has a divine purpose - freedom to worship being one of it's main purposes. So I believe and have faith that when the word "God" appears on the buildings in Washington DC it is a supreme being they prayed to and received guidance from when this country was founded. Pretty old fashioned, I know. Stepping down off my soapbox now.
