I have a family member who played for Geno when he was at Dakota Wesleyan who left the program after her first year because she felt he was inappropriate with the girls in his wording and interactions. A group of the girls there went to the admin to discuss this and he was supposedly reprimanded there. While I have no indications that this is the case at UMKC, it does seem like it is a fireable/suspendable offense if it was continuing. As I stated in the previous thread, the AD is a busybody looking for a reason to fire people, not just Geno. He wanted approval for every practice plan from every coach under him as well as approval of every lineup change from every coach, not just volleyball. He also travelled with the team and would try to listen in on personal conversations between Geno and others. I will say if there was anything going on like this Dakota Wesleyan situation, I see no problems in the AD staying close to the coach to see for themselves.. Anyways, always going to be two side's to every situation.. who knows which we are hearing, or if it is even anywhere close to the truth or spun completely outta whack. Doubt the AD is an avid Volleytalk poster.

On the other hand, the only thing I have heard about Geno is that he is avery demanding taskmaster.

Whatever happened is being kept hush hush. At NKU last home match every single administrator was in that gym that never ever attends volleyball matches. I believe that the women's basketball coach was on the bench as well. I thought I heard that Carlos's son was on the bench coaching as well. I wish Carlos the best.

I can confirm the ambiguity of his dismissal. I know the girls on the team have been told that he was suspended for undisclosed reasons. A player of ours is good friends with an NKU kid and chatted it up after their win over Georgetown. Best of luck to him.

It was definitely more of what was said in terms of the AD wanting to micro manage every situation to the point where the asst now interim wanted to resign and the ad not only wouldn't allow it but gave her a bunch of extra duties. I'm not doubting what you've said, but would like to know how the A.D. prevented her from resigning? How does he do this? If what you and a few others have said about the A.D. micro-managing programs is true (and I'm not disputing this), then you quit. He can't stop you from quitting. I know it's tough to give up a paycheck in this day-n-age (especially given the state of the economy), but if the work environment is that bad, then you remove yourself from it. Again, I just don't get how the (now) interim head coach is being "held hostage/captive"!? THe reason the AD prevented her from resigning was that the asst coach was always in the backpocket of the AD. The asst couldn't be trusted because she was after the head job. So it wasn't that she was bening "held hostage" it was that she had friends in high places...Before Geno resigned the AD told the asst that she could have the head job or and admin position. The asst wanted to quit bc Geno wouldn't use someone she recommended to play in the game, so she decides to resign during a tournament- doesn't help with warmups nothing. Tells Geno that she is now the DofOps and already told the admin. It was a bad situation. Also how real is that Dakota Weslyan situation. Kind of funny that the poster had just registered right before posting and that was their only post. Kind of reminds me of an angry parent who wants to make sure they are heard.
