Posted this on the men's side, but thought that some here might also be intrigued (...may the 'cats' commence with clawing).
The tournament is all inclusive (Jrs, B, A, AA, Maters) and runs for the week during Spring Break, prior to Easter. [I'm surpised that with as many HI fans as there are on the board..not a one has posted this yet (maybe they're all just getting out of church, or something???)]

It's like the Merrie Monarch of Volleyball. Lots of 'mahus' and hotel and plane ticket prices doubles during the tournament.
It's really a big deal for people who participate in this tournament but for most of Hawaii WV fans, they don't really care much about this tournament. I don't even think this tournament gets any news coverage. I know several people who are in this tournament and they don't even talk about it.
haili's used to be a lot of fun in the past. now, it's just the same old people year after year after year. what else is there to look forward to and get amped up about? you play the same teams at waimanalo or at manoa.
i most look forward to hitting up shooters and having a drink or two
you're talking about 3 teams out of over 100 that actually play in the tournament. but like i said, it's the same teams year after year - granted the current wahine's don't play year in or year out in hilo.
rusty is always there, uh hilo women are always there, kamehameha boys are always there, quicksets open are always there, kailua mens vbc are always there, sawaiians, etc.
it makes sense. the biggest tournament in the islands.
who wouldn't want to spend a week in hawaii during spring break to play volleyball? just pray there aren't any tsunamis hah i keed.
As I understand it, the second largest of its kind in the nation, outside of Adult USAV Nationals (held in varying cities) each year.
and tsunamis...can't say that i'd want to ever be there for those naturals. although you wouldn't have the foggiest about those crazies who tried to out surf this last one, do you? I mean the world watches by TV, anticipating this bigger than life disaster, only to see a couple of nuts out on their surfboards...was it at Waikiki???
Keepin' in Your (now) forwardly perspective: try anew 10 4 25.
Bleh. Haili started as a men's tournament, shoulda stayed that way. Bad enough there's a women's division now, and now you bungholes wanna tie it to JO qualifiers?
i don't recall me ever saying that 'i want to' but that it would be a nice and economical idea.
more money for the islands and a great show not only for the thousands of people who fly their anyways but the girls who'd be coming from thousands of miles away.
the only bunghole i see is you, who im sure was born sometime in the early 40's way before blacks and whites shared the same drinking fountain and too stuck in their ways to adapt to change and/or even accept it.
