Vidovic at the top of the list for sure. do high school coaches traditionally make the leap to college? If they hire Vidovic, I’m sure it will take some time to adjust, but in the long run should be a good hire. Rick Schroeder could be a possible candidate as well. Things ended at Aquinas quite poorly to say the least, but he still brought a first year program to a national championship game. They could also try to hire a current D3 coach of an upcoming program. It’ll be interesting to see who Carthage hires and if they can bring them back to dominating the Midwest.

People keep making up their own Aquinas story and it has me doubting humanity more than I already did. The Vidovic comment was a joke - for all I know, he's the next Pete Hanson, but to your point - There are only so many men's jobs out there for those looking - it tends to be pretty competitive among those interested.

And in a lot of cases, when a coach leaves, the AD already has someone in mind who they want and will likely get to replace the outgoing coach.

Carthage will have a lot of options
There are 3 current D3 head coaches (off the top of my head) who are alumni of Carthage. Are they applying I do not know. There is a D1 assistant who is an alum (just speculation, not saying I have any inside information). There are a lot of qualified coaches in the Wisconsin / Norther Ill area as well as this is a prime position. Whoever they hire will be very deserving.
We were talking about this Saturday in a group and the number of names who would be a good fit was very very very long. Will be interesting to see in what direction they go.

Phone interviews will begin this week. It would seem we are down to two. A former cougar that grew wings and the current leader of pride of lions from south jersey.

Dan Sempkowski. Georgian Court. D2 women’s. Don’t know what his men’s experience looks like. "Previously, Sempkowski served as an assistant coach to the men's volleyball program at Ramapo College of New Jersey. During his tenure, the team won a share of the Skyline regular-season title with a conference record of 13-1 and an ECAC crown. A Ramapo alumnus himself, Sempkowski spent four years with the Roadrunners from 2006-2009, before graduating in 2009 with a degree in economics and a minor in political science. From 2009-2011, Sempkowski served as a graduate assistant coach for the men's and women's volleyball teams at Missouri Valley College. Sempkowski coached the MAMVIC Libero of the Year in 2011 and 10 all-conference players over the two years, while playing a vital role in the drastic improvement of both squads." gculions.com/staff.aspx?staff=45

This is an interesting short list. I wonder which one of the 2 will be offered. I agree. I think both coaches, after reading what the Reignman posted, it will be an interesting decision. It somewhat begs the question of what they are looking for. Mike Fox, a product of Kean, has experience (more recent) at the men’s level, having had a successful run helping to build Kean’s program as both a player and assistant. He also had some very strong tutelage under Cal at Naz, a long term figure in d3. I know he’s also had strong success as a club coach at both Pace and Sixpack so far. Sempkowski is no slouch either. Rampage used to be a d3 contender for sure before the dawn of Kean in the skyline. Dan also won a number of CACC’s at the D2 women’s level but not much more than that in the last 4-5 years. I think either would be successful but I would like to see a young coach have the chance to build their legacy and I think Mike Fox could do well at Newark with last year and this year’s incoming recruiting class.
