Penn State Behrend (D3; Erie, PA) is hiring a full-time assistant coach for men's and women's volleyball. The Assistant Men's and Women's Volleyball coach will be responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of student athletes at the University. Duties will include the recruitment and retention of top prospect student athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice and skill development; and designing strategies which prepare the team for competition. The Assistant Coach will also mentor the student-athletes to ensure both academic and athletic success while also managing the team budget and organizing sports camps and booster activities. This position also plays a key role in ensuring adherence to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. This is a 91.7% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Month off is June. Full Penn State benefits included.

Lincoln College (Ill.) is looking for a men's coach. Looks like the longtime women's coach, who also started the men's program, is no longer there. Tough going right at the beginning of the season. lincolncollegejobs.peopleadmin.com/postings/158

So he was hired on December 22 and they play their first match as a program on January 28? how do they even put together a team?

Well when you have a gym and the history of Boys Volleyball on Long Island, it makes sense. Will they get a lot of LI players who knows but I can understand the premise.
