Yeah Fergie was probably expected to at least get past CSUN in the semis of MPSF tournament. Got to give Fergie credit for putting USC back on the volleyball map after years of draught. That Ciarrelli looks like a hot head to me from what I have seen. And to have his Dad as an assistant? Does he have expertise in the game that we dont know about? Maybe they dumped all the asst coaches to get to 1. USC just didn't seem to have the chemistry that was needed this year to win a championship.

I don't think Brad Keller will be unemployed for very long... i agree... if a head coach was thinking about making a change to their staff, brad's availability might hasten that change

One of the USC assistants interviewed (a few years back) for the same position at another school. He told the associate coach that if he got it he (the interviewee) will let him coach at his club. The associate coach said go look for another job somewhere else!!

Ferguson was expected to win a tittle this year and he just didn't deliver. I don't know if this is true or not yet but he needs to hire real assisants instead of hiring his own friends. Yes it was probably suggested by the AD(or a big time booster, former alumni/all time great player) because there is no way Ferguson would fire his own buddies. The pressure to win the tittle next year is huge. Woah what's with making the assumptions about Chuck and Brad? I've had Chuck as an assistant coach and can tell you he's an excellent assistant. I've never had Brad but I've been at a camp he runs, and practice in the same gym as his team does and he runs practices like a machine. His kids improve a ton over short amounts of time because he's a fantastic coach. Anyway Chuck Moore may have been fired, I'm not sure, but I know for a fact he was leaving anyway. He moved back to Florida, where he lived previously, because he had a house down there that he and his wife couldn't sell. He also had a job as a firefighter down there, which he made good money for, so he just went back there. Brad I'm not sure about. Haven't heard anything about him being fired, he's still at SCVC practices, wearing his USC gear, and he doesn't look pissed off really (actually come to think of it he was kinda mad with his team yesterday...). Maybe he decided it was best for him to go, since there was absolutely no reason he should be fired. Anyway there's nothing to confirm this. Chuck definitely left, but not necessarily fired, he just moved back to Florida. It sounds like Brad left but I'd wait for some sort of confirmation.

That's probably true about Chuck because he is Fergie's best friend. No way Fergie would have fired unless someone on the administration told him. I think he is an ok coach. Keller on the other hand, doesn't really contribute at all. From my observations I don't see how he adds anything. He doesn't have much esperience. Fergie should hire someone who has been around a while and really gets the game.

I'll tell you in a message if you want proof. www.usctrojans.com/sports/m-volley/mtt/keller_brad00.htmlWhat more do you want out of an assistant? What do you mean by observations he does nothing, during timeouts he does just as much as Bill.... in fact he does a ton of coaching. When Bill holds a USC volleyball camp Brad actually does most of the coaching. He knows what he's doing. If he got fired I'm not sure why. You may not think he does much but I know from first hand experience that he is an excellent coach. He knows what he's doing and he's been around longer than you think.

Damn 30kills, here's an entire thread denouncing the staff you defended against the likes of me when we questioned why they couldn't take the most talented team in the land beyond the first round of the MPSF toruney. Where's your normal venom? Where's your apocolyptic meltdown?
I'm sorry they got fired; it's never good news when people lose their job. But this shows that something's up and other people felt the underachieved.
I just find it odd that Fergie kept his gig and let all of his buddies hang. I wonder if he tossed them all under the bus to keep his job. I guess you have to keep someone around with next year being the last year the core group will be together, but if they choke next year too (and anything less than an NC will be a choke), good ol' Fergie will be worshipping Pete Carroll from an off campus location.
Wonder if Fergy will turn into Kiffen by the end of bowl season.

You sure this is not a "you can be on the staff if the kid I'm recruiting signs on"? If you recall a few years ago, a certain public school a few miles west hired Pooh Richardson's dad as an assistant coach and it started a cascade of perks for the family members of prized recruits. Baron Davis's sister get a nice used Bronco to drive to her campus job. You have to figure that with the deep donor pockets at the private trade school near the museums, they can offer up some pretty nice jobs for the extras who come attached to prize recruits.

Rocky Ciareli is a volunteer assistant. He doesn't get paid.. i was talking about Chuck Moore, who has been out of volleyball for several years but got the job because he is Fergie's friend.

Fergie should hire someone who has been around a while and really gets the game. now you just show some flat ignorance. your "observations" you obviously haven't been in an sc practice and "observed' keller teaching. you obviously haven't seen keller at work with his club teams, nor do you know the level of respect the guy commands in the mens vb world in socal. perhaps you should refrain from posting until you're someone who "really gets the game".

Cheeseburger, keller is a nice guy, but what has he produced? Any championships? Any players who he taught how to play? Sure he can teach but can he win? And whoever said fergie threw his buddies under the bus to keep his job is ludicrous. Why would they keep the assistants but fire the head coach, unless they wanted to replace the head coach with assistants? Fergie is a successful coach all in all, and has lead teams to championships, and taught very talented players the game. That's why he's still around.
