theBREAX & DJ Wade-O -- "Paper Jam"
There was once a time when
I was a tyrant
On an island
In a past life of my sin
Claiming I wanted to find Him
But I was the one lost
I, I needed a search and rescue
Thinkin' I can get in if I do things that impress You
Why, why God bless you, you, you, you
Even on my best days I'm still a mess too
I'm stranded
I can't stand it
So much I can't change even if I plan it
Stuck on this planet creation cries out
The clock won't stop and I want a timeout
So long to find out
I know very little and I have control of even less, less
Still supposed to be responsible
Even without the conjugal
Visits and the added-on stress
It's all a test, right
This life's supposed to be a test flight
But I'm all ready for the real thing
I'm tired of being numb; I wanna feel things
More than these prison walls that hear my boys sing
So hard to keep filtering
Entering the machine
For process and sentencing
My life's a paper jam
I feel like Abraham
Excuse me for not being depressed about the Lakers man
I got more pressing matters
Tryin' to process the data
I believe that we can make it but my dream may still get shattered
Tryin' to be sober like
They got it coded right
But if I gotta fight
I might find out there's so much more to life
So what's worse: not reachin' your dreams
Or reachin' 'em and finding out they're not all you esteem
My vision is 20/20 that's a catch 22
Sometimes I gotta relearn what I already knew
The more I learn the more I realize how little I know
And how much stress I apply but what my life really shows
I'm a walkin' talkin' hypocrite
Yes I admit it
I probably should consider mental clinic and get admitted
Been called a psycho
But got the right flow
At this point it's probably clear I walk a tightrope
There are no tight bows
But don't take everything I say so literally
'Cause even under that microscope
the Bible may be misunderstood or even worse abused
Misused to lead people astray and validate views
That it's never endorsed
Don't read all the reports
That set a date for the last day of the world's course
'Cause that's a major scam
Life's a paper jam
Make it clear I'm not a revolution J
"Cause I think progressive
Will make me impressive
I'm still a human
Probably been where you been
Tryin' to move myself before I can lead a movement
But this could be a movement
This could be the truest
Thing we've ever seen that goes on to influence
Generations after us
We are not blasphemous
We lay down our lives
That's the least that is asked of us
Expecting nothing in return
'Cause my salvation was not earned
And my salvation was not learned
It was a free gift that enabled me to turn
From that fire so I did not burn
No reason to stand proud
One of I AM now
I just want to jam for you...
