I do love me some Doobie Brothers. "Desperado" is one of my all time favorites.
Been listening to Best of Earth Wind and Fire lately. SO MANY good songs by them!!!!!
Desperado was by the Eagles, wasn't it? Or were you just mentioning it along with the Brothers Doobie.
Oh man, dementia must be settling in. Yes, the Eagles, also The Carpenter's did a nice version. Very rarely do I get my 70's groups mixed up, but I did this time .

Speaking of 70s music, one of Seattle's forgotten talents stuck in between Jimi Hendrix and the alternative revolution the media dubbed "grunge"
Also why didn't Nancy sing more often like in "these dreams"? Older sis Ann wouldn't let her? I think her voice is amazing, but I guess Ann did have the better rock n roll voice, which was what Heart at their best was:

Have lots of Heart songs on my ipod - Dreamboat Annie, Magic Man, What About Love, etc, etc. People forget they sang "Alone" before Celine Dion. Love the guitar.
NOTE: First time to actually do the youtube button thingy. My kids would be so proud.

To clear things up, it was never Ann's decision to allow Nancy to sing or not. Nancy did however started to sing songs from Little Queen (album) to present day.
These Dreams was an after thought song that was originally written for Stevie Nicks to sing, but she turned it down. Nancy fell in love with the song and decided to sing it. The day of recording that song, Nancy had come down with a cold, but decided to record it nonetheless. The producers loved the way she sounded on the recording, that they decided to keep the recording of her vocals as is. So what you hear in These Dreams, is Nancy singing with a cold.
The best song of Nancy singing with the group Heart, in my opinion is a remake of a Elton John classic Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. It's hard enough to sing and play guitar at the same time, but, she makes it look so easy.

Thanks for the tidbit, I grew up with Heart and Fleetwood playing, my mom is a fanatic and I never really appreciated either groups music until a few years ago after college. In fact my little sister was name after Stevie Nicks, with a little twist, her given name is Stevie Jean.
Also found this in the suggestion box on youtube in the video that azvb posted, probably the best version I've heard, a little more rock:

I went to HS with David Gates son Rick, when Bread was at its peak. He played JV hoops and French Horn in our Wind Ensemble. It wasn't easy for him because he never knew when he went out with a girl it was because she liked Rick or because she liked his dad.
For New Years I gave up everything that was immoral, illegal, or fattening. For Lent, I gave up giving up things.
And one of my favorite new videos, from one my favorite bands:
Love Dropkick Murphy, "Warrior's Code" is the ultimate wakeboard song. I'm no snob that either likes Dropkick or Flogging Molly, I like both. Dropkick is kind of East Coast Irish rock, and Flogging is kinda West Coast Irish Rock. Love this video too:
