is there any livestream for this match? If you are a PAC 12 Channel subscriber, you can go through the website, log in and watch it on the Bay Area feed I believe. Here in the midwest, I am able to watch almost every match either on the primary channel feed or by going through the website when it is not the main game that is on. Of course I will be leaving around 1:00 today for Iowa State as this is as close as they have gotten to us for the last three years. Headed on over to Lincoln for the Sunday match as well. Some great games right out of the chute. Should be exciting, regardless of outcome. I wish I had time to fly in for the game ... could be a good one considering ISU will be looking for payback after Stanford took them to the woodshed a few years ago in Berkeley. BTW, watch out for those seniors over in Lincoln ... they might "cane" you if you're wearing any Stanford clothing.

Who else is Stanford recruiting for '15 and '16? Here are two that Stanford are apparently pursuing and, as you can see from these videos, so are several other elite programs: 2016: Audrianna Fitzmorris: 2016: Ronika Stone:

It was mentioned earlier that Stone wasn't interested in Stanford. I know of Hodson and Fitzmorris and the Hentz girl from Cincy. Others?

If Stone "isn't interested" in Stanford, despite playing club for Jason Mansfield, that sounds like she has already been told that she is unlikely to able to get through Stanford admissions.

Some people want to leave their hometown for college no matter what. I know that was my mentality. It's part of going out and making your own way in the world.

Heard Stone was considering Cal, Washington, Oregon and possibly others. She is visiting Oregon soon. [EDIT] She visited Oregon this weekend.

I don't know that to be true but I remember someone mentioning it...

Too bad Stone isn't considering Stanford. She is a dominant player and will continue to be so for the next 2 years.
Who I am hoping Stanford will get in 2016 is Kathryn Plummer, a 6'5 setter/opposite out of SoCal and from Tstreet volleyball club. She is fun to watch. She will be a special player I am telling you. Definitely top 5 on that class. I won't be surprised though if she commits to Pepperdine or USC though, as she is more inclined with programs that has strong Sand volleyball programs.
Earlier, we talked about potential recruits and I think for 2016, aside from Fitzmorris and Hentz, Stanford might be looking for an MB from Oregon. She has the potential to be a dominant MB but her development has been hampered as she sat out for more than a year due to a concussion. From what I heard, she is slowly getting back to her top form and will continue to improve over the next 2 years. She visited a couple of Pac12 powerhouses already (Stanford and SC).
Stanford needs to reload for 2016 in all positions as the 2014 and 2015 classes are quiet although getting Hodson is clearly a wonderful news.

A class of Plummet, Hentz, Fitzmorris and Wiltjer would complement Hodson very well.

Pretty excited for this season. Stanford is winning vs the top teams despite being inconsistent. They will be so much better come December. Hopefully a final 4 will be a a possibility.
Boukather's performance is very surprising. I love her hitting mechanics, her blocking and she can bang the ball. But what is so good about her is how she can play good defense. And yes, I love that Madi is setting her a lot even though she is at the right back.
If Lutz becomes more consistent with hitting and blocking, then we will be in for a treat. She is still trying to adjust into the collegiate play but once she gets it, she will be tough to stop. In the game vs Penn State, she had blocks that were very promising. I hope Madi learns fast how to set her.
Inky will be Inky. And so is Gilbert.
Just a little worried about Howard. Not getting enough kills, not putting the ball down, decent passing. I hope the coaching staff motivates her more. She's a tall girl who can pass, but can't hit well enough to be a top OH.
Burgess will be fine, excellent defense, passing and a decent hitting. She is taking the charge this year.

USC doesn't let indoor players play on the sand team. Could see her at either UCLA or Pepperdine, maybe Hawaii. I would rate her top 3 with Lanier and FItzmorris.

After the Penn State and Illinois games I will give my two cents about the near-term future. Although the team has been winning thus far, there is much room for improvement. Burgess should put the top-spin jump serve on the backburner. She can perfect it during practice, not while playing the #1 team. I was critical of Burgess' hitting the start of last season. She improved substantially during mid-season and was teeing off on every hittable set by the end of the season. I will wait to see how she progresses. Did anyone see volunteer assistant coach 6'6" Kasey Crider talking to Lutz during timeouts in the Illinois match? She makes Crider look like a short person. Lutz did some good things during the Illinois match. She has a surprisingly strong wrist snap when hitting. I think it is still too early to make a decision about MB2. Either player may improve during pre-conference with more experience. Hopefully by conference it will be clear who gets the starting position. I would like to see more of Brown as a sub for serving. I predict Stanford will lose at least two matches during the regular season; possibly more and possibly when everyone least expects it. Here is a two minute video for Stanford fans who couldn't watch the Penn State game. It may take 10 seconds for the video to start. www.gostanford.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=3384483Some quotes after the Penn State game: Quote from Morgan Boukather about her early season success: “ I’ve been around for a while. You learn from your experiences.” Quote from Russ Rose on Inky: “ If the game’s close, Inky can win it. No shocker there.” Quote from Inky: “ The point of preseason and the games we play is to learn a lot. We have a lot of room for improvement. It wasn’t a great game on either side of the net.” Quote from Dunning: “ Some of the things we did since the start of fall camp did not work tonight at all. So we’ve got to go back to the drawing board and figure out what the next thing is.”

Her ability to hit the front-one set effectively is just the juice Stanford needs to balance out their weak pin hitting. And, of course, her blocking, while a work in progress, is showing much promise. Getting her into games so she can get "real" blocking reps will be an important key to Stanford's NCAA push.
