Remember watching some video of Crouch's club team recently and she was playing MB, not opposite. Hate evaluating players based on short video clips so I'll avoid that here, but she's definitely got size and mobility on her side. Will be interesting to see how she develops.

A red or beach is a quicker Tempo set to the right pin. For the most part on the men’s side we call it a “beach” and on the women’s side they call it a “red” I’m from SoCal tho, so I don’t know what they call it everywhere else. Although I did spend my freshman year of college in Miami and the Puerto Rican’s I played with called it “Beach” too lol Weird. A volleyball lingo source (can't remember the name) said that a "red" was a high outside backset. Oh well, who cares? It's hard for us old timers to keep all this volleyball terminology straight. In the old days it was just 1, 2, 3, 4, back 1, quick, high outside. Now you've got rip, go, red, slide, hut, back gap, pipe, D, besides 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, back 1. I believe in modern lingo "red" is a lower set out to the right pin and you can see why it would be common on the beach, keeping the ball down out of the wind and shortening the approach.

Looks like the owner of the channel, I’m assuming a parent, put their videos on private? I’m hoping it wasn’t because they saw I’d post their video on here.

I've played on every surface, including dirt, linoleum, and concrete (not mud, yet!), but I've never heard of "red" or "beach" sets. What are they? A red or beach is a quicker Tempo set to the right pin. Although I did spend my freshman year of college in Miami and the Puerto Rican’s I played with called it “Beach” too lol We always refer to a red as a backrow right side set (also called a D). Red for right side backrow, white for middle backrow attack (also called a pipe or 10), and blue for left side backrow (very rarely used but can sometimes be effective)

Funny in the northeast, I use red to refer to a high right pin set, but we also use 5 as well. A, C, Pipe, D are all used for different positions out of the back row, but as long as your setter and you are on the same page it's all good!

I’m not %100 sure, I would think so, unless she grows 2-3 inches in the next 2 years.

Fwiw, VBall Mag released their Fab 50 + 25 Underclassmen to watch, and it currently lists Baird, Kipp, and Vicini as Stanford recruits, with Xu as N/A.
