I know it's probably 99% not happening but can you imagine if we had Lexi Sun playing opposite of Plummer on the left. I can imagine it, but it wouldn’t be a great sitte..lol I’ve always thought Lexi was a great attacker, Ive watched her play in person many times in club and in high school. On the other hand her passing and defense is mediocre at best. If im choosing a bookend for Plummer I need an OH that can pass, defend and get a decent number of kills. I wouldn’t want 2 terminators whose passing isn’t their strength. That’s no shade to Plummer I’m a huge fan, but she plays “ok” defense and is slightly above average passer. I really like McClures passing and defense, quick to the ball and at her best in a tempo offense. I think they balance each other out really well. Sun would be ideal if we ds’d her in the back row but nah I like all around complete OH’s.

Unfortunately, we know what happened. Then again, Plummer may not have even played OH much less become the best player in the NCAA at a position she’s only played for a short time.

Bet no one guessed Plummer with Villapano today ? Bet no guessed Bowen & Formico would be first to win a set and a match.

Too bad Mima (Cal) didn’t end up at Stanford, her and Plummer would have bashed it on the beach.

Bowen and Formico currently giving everything they have to UCLA number four pair in beach right now. Up 9-1 in the third. They seem like a really strong pairing that will do extremely well this year

Bowen & Formico have won 2 out of 3 of their matches so far. They have Stanford's best record, at this early stage.

Bowen and formico win again.
Again, I think they will be a formidable pairing.

And they just won their third straight match, beating Homayum/Ozee a second time in three sets. Stanford won the first set, dropped the second and held off match point at 14-13. B&F scored three straight to keep Stanford alive in the meet. Down 1-2 overall, Plummer & Villapando up 15-13 in their first set.

IMO, they very well may be a top 10 team this year.

Stanford loses to Hawaii 2-3. Plummer & Villapando won their last match 2-0, the only two-set win for the Cardinal this weekend.
Bowen & Formico 3-1 (6-5 sets) Plummer & Villapando 2-2 (4-5 sets) The rest, 0-4 (0-8 sets).
Still better than I expected against two top 5 teams. Hawaii & UCLA split their meets, so they are each 3-1.
