I wonder when Stanford will announce the Alisha Glass hire... assuming it's not fake news.

I believe Stanford plays Nebraska this year non-conference as well. That is the rumor, but where? As you know RED doesn't go on the road very frequently during preseason. They have never played at Maples Pavilion and almost all Stanford/RED encounters, like the recent one in Minneapolis, are tilted in RED's favor due to number of their fans in attendance. Think I attended a Cardinal victory over the Huskers in 1999 at Maples in the tourney. I wasn't paying attention prior to 99, but to your point -- I don't recall any visit to Palo Alto since then.

This is awesome in so many ways. Spoke with Alisha and her husband Josh Childress (Stanford Basketball Alum) during this past high school season. She was coaching a pretty good Sierra Canyon team I believe. She’s such a pleasant person and watching her coach she was very technical and stern yet calm and collected. She’ll fit in perfectly!!!!! LETS GO CARD! Side Note** Watching Miner play for two seasons I’ve always thought she had the potential to be an Alisha Glass type of player. Physical, athletic, strong and a great leader. Future looks bright for Stanford. I hadn't realized that she was married to Josh Childress. He was one of my all-time favorites to watch play. So athletic. 1st round draft pick, 6th overall selection.

No mention of Alisha in the story. www.theringer.com/nba/2018/1/18/16901614/josh-childress-australia-nba-basketball-adelaide-36ers-donald-trump

I am currently competing in a Chicago national qualifier, and got to see caitie Baird play today. She looks extremely athletic and moves well. However, I don’t see her playing over McClure or earning a staring spot freshman year. She has a couple things that need to be worked on to allow her to succeed at the next level. Potential is through the roof. You all should be VERY excited she’s joining Stanford in the 2019 season.

What are the areas you think she is already good at.

Nebraska did play at Stanford in either 89 or 90 because I'd just moved to CA and we did a road trip up for the match. Don't remember if that was in Maples or not, just remember Nebraska got thrashed. Not pretty.

They have all the old schedules online at gostanford.com. In 1990, they played the "Stanford Invitational" Oct 11 & 12. Stanford swept St. Mary's and Nebraska (no scores given).
They mixed in a lot of non-conference matches during the whole season back then. Oklahoma & Texas were at Stanford Nov 9 & 10.

Stanford almost has too many options for OH this coming season. The Cardinal need to have consistent passing first and foremost. Hambly will sort it out in August.
Anyone heard if Xu is playing club now or still recovering?

These will help her hit the ball with more power. I do agree she has potential. Give her a year lifting some weights and running drills, not to mention college coaching, and I think we'll see some solid improvement.
