From what I’ve heard yes. No one that good in her grade is till uncommitted. We will know in 2 months but everyone, even 17s club players, are saying she’s going to Stanford. Also just realized Stanford will have 3 middles from Texas out of 4 rostered middles in 2020. Winder how Elliot feels about Stanford starting to pick up his coveted tav girls. Until Leilah, Annabelle, and Elena publicly commit, I'll hold my reservations until then. I still have PTSD from the Nuneviller thing. Not that I have any inside info on what happened there, but I thought consensus around these parts was she was going to Stanford until she publicly committed to Oregon late May. I was salivating at the thought of a Hentz-Nuneviller combo manning the backrow for 2 years together. Yeah, it seemed Nuneviller was a sure thing. Since I know zero about her grades, I'm just gonna say it was a personal choice on her part. If she wants to start at L 4 years, she made the right choice. If she wants a chance at playing OH, she made the right choice. She has been fun to watch, and I continue to wish her the best. As for Stanford, it would seem it worked out well for us too. Our chemistry would have been different with Nuneviller. Would we still have won an NT? Definitely likely, but no guarantee. We had a great back court with Hentz and Formico--much better than what we had when we won in 2016. stanfordvb might not value Formico much--which is fine. Boring if everyone has identical opinions. However, I still contend that Formico contributed a great deal to the team's success last season, and yes, would be a starting L on most top Div 1 schools. We are fortunate to have her. With Formico, Hentz and McClure, we have so much good passing, and so many quality dig-to-kill opps. We really did not have a weakness in defense, thanks in large part to Formico.

She's a winner: and champion! Btw: Archbishop Mitty won CA State Open Championship her Senior year. MaxPreps rated AMHS #1 in the nation in both overall sports program & VB that year. Winner.

I mentioned McClure at libero a while back but was shot down. I think it would work. Apparently oglivie is pretty good. Like really good. But she hits for club and hs so I haven’t seen her play libero yet. People get mad at me for saying it but I don’t see formico as a good option at libero. Maybe good is the wrong word. I think k she is good, but I don’t see her I guess as a libero who can change the game the way liberos at the top programs do (hentz, lake, Maloney, white). Formico doesn’t seem good enough for Stanford TO ME. I know everyone is about to quote me and say “she could be libero at most top 20 programs” ok.... idc. it’s my opinion. 'Tis rare I wholeheartedly agree with Gavin, but I've suggested this too: also to be 'shot' at. Afa Kate, she is still developing, imo, and HAS shown improvement over 2 yrs.I really don’t think my opinions are THAT far fetched. They are strong opinions, but not ones that don’t have a valid argument. That’s shhhhhh

Genuinely curious... could you name a few TOP div 1 schools formico would start at. I don’t see it happening at Nebraska, wisco, Minnesota, psu, BYU, Texas, possibly Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, I’m sure she could within the pac, especially with Garrick and Nuño graduating last season, but I’m not sure what TOP programs you’re thinking.

Saw Kevin Hambly at Red Rock Rave yesterday watching TAV. Guessed he was watching Leila Smith, who looked like a phenomenal MB and is listed on TAV’s roster as uncommitted. Was surprised to see on here Annabelle Smith from the same TAV team listed as a likely Stanford prospect since she didn’t stand out nearly as much but maybe she’s a better fit for what they need. He happened to catch the game when they got upset by Rage from Sacramento who had already lost a couple matches that day. 😬 Maybe it was just an off day for Smith. This strikes me as a strange mobile, courtside post to make during the last day of a JNQ. Weird how strong, positive adjectives about one player while denigrating the other player (and on the same team too). And the post is made by someone who watched TAV play all three days and watched all the games in their pool on day 2 (to know just what Rage did against the other teams). Strange post. Not sure it is really appropriate, nor made by a "disinterested observer or bystander".

Said poster may be a poser or a relative, so for now I'm dismissing the original post as neither negative or positive.

I think you have to take Formico's "OH" designation with a grain of salt, since she had a total of 4 attacks in her senior season. I have never seen her play OH. The more interesting statistic is that she had 59 aces and only 42 service errors with 93% serving accuracy on 602 serves in her senior season. Something definitely changed with her serving.

How often does Stanford get transfers? Rumor mill tells me an impact MB may be coming next year since she got into grad school at Stanford.

Almost impossible for undergrads due to academics and number of open transfer spots. However, for graduate students it would be completely different since you were accepted academically into a graduate program. That would allow you to walk-on to the VB team if you have eligibility left. With that said, graduate programs are serious business, which raises the question of whether you will have time to compete.

Rare due to rarely anyone ever transfers out of Stanford, at least pertains to the scholarship players. Good high school players that come to Stanford and barely see the floor don’t leave because it’s Stanford haha. Ex : Peyton Chang, Lydia bai, I can’t beleive I forgot her name but the oppo from 2014 played only her senior year at Stanford, may be the case for Berty

As for soccer, I think it was 2013 that the nation's leading goal-scorer transferred as a junior to Stanford from Minnesota. Taylor Uhl.

Tbph I just skimmed an old bio of her in the AMHS website (have too much goin' on...my life-wise...to dig That deep). Followed her recruitment a bit; not too highly rated.
